Re: POLL: Vacation plans this year?
We did our big trip to Italy last summer so this year we're keeping it very low-key. DH is hoping to teach summer school (so he can earn some money to put toward his new entertainment system he wants). Then in July he's going on a road trip to Chicago with two of his buddies for a music festival.
I'll probably travel for work in June and July to NYC. Would like to take DH with me on one of those trips, but not sure how that'll work out.
I think if anything I'll take some time off work in July and we'll come down to Austin to visit with friends and family, wear flip flops, drink beer and margaritas, eat mexican food/BBQ/sno-cones, go float the river and/or to Schlitterbahn... and just chill and pretend we still live in Austin. Plus this way we can bring the doggies and not have to board them or find someone to take care of them.

we just went to the dominican republic so we're not going anywhere anytime soon - don't be jealous, it wasn't all that (for multiple reasons).
I have a free flight with southwest, I might go to DC to visit two friends who live there. and, depending on work, might take a trip back to CA to visit the fam/friends.
Going to Colombia for my younger brother's wedding in June. Not much of vacation, though - we'll only be there a few days since I blew all of my vacation time on that godawful cruise we took earlier this month.
Also going to spend a weekend at a B&B in New Braunfels in July. A short, low key relaxing getaway.
where, specifically? CA is a big state.

I think she lives in Hollywood, so I guess that area, we are flying into LAX.
go to santa monica (walk around the pier, grab a drink at the lobster, check out the farmer's market), malibu is awesome, and venice beach is the best place in the world to people-watch. IMHO, of course.
I'm not too familiar with hollywood, but I'm assuming your sister would have recs for you there.
DH and I are going to Branson, MI with my mom, dad, sister, her BF and grandfather for four days in June. Not my dream vacation - but it's with family and that will be good.
DH just got back from Georgia for 3 days seeing his brother graduate.
I'm trying to talk DH into doing Fiji in December/January. We never went on a "big" honeymoon and I'm dyyyyyyying to go. I honestly think we'll probably not get to go until next summer. Maybe Flordia in the fall to hold me over??? We'll see.

DH has been wanting to road trip for awhile so we finally compromised- In late June I'll fly out to Seattle to see my dad and he'll leave the same time and meet us there. Probably stay 3-4 nights, including the 4th of July and then drive back down Oregon, California back around to Texas.
September is our 5 yr wedding anniversary and I want to renew our vows/ plan another wedding. I told DH we're going to renew in Vegas, by Elvis. It is going to be fun. We had already agreed to renew every 5 yrs.
He wants to go to Maine in the fall to visit some friends, but we'll see how that pans out.
Other than that, just some random Corpus Christie, Fredricksburg, etc weekend trips.
We're going to Comic Con. (I know you're all jealous.) Other than that, nothing planned. Later in the year, we may try to go to Vegas, but this is not the year of big travels.
I'm actually kind of jealous. PLEEASE show off your photos when you get back! Though I'm guessing there won't be a LOST panel this year

I think we are going to go to Costa Rica and Nicaragua in June. Then, my dream trip to Australia/New Zealand/Fiji in the Fall. Other than that, we have a few small driving trips to the Coast and New Orleans this summer.
Have lots of traveling I want to do before children, so we've got to get busy. I'm not getting any younger!
