Odd post but I'm putting this out there

I live in Montreal and although it is a fun, and great city i am quite bored being in Quebec (been here since i was about 6). I was talking to the H today about maybe looking in to moving in the next year or so. (we want to pay a few things off and finish our lease and save some money)

What places do you recommend? We like city living but aren't opposed to the burbs. (also the H wants nothing to do with Ontario, i don't know why).

I just want to see what other people say, looking online only gives you so much. We want to get an idea of different areas.

TIA!!!

  • What type of work do you each do? Would you want to move somewhere where you could each work in your chosen fields/professions?

  • Sorry... no help here... I live in Ontario and haven't been to any other province besides Quebec.

  • Alberta!! Where you can have all 4 seasons in one day! lol

I might be biased since i'm in Calgary. haha
It's a great city and province. You could live in one of the outer towns that are 20 minutes from the city and get the best of both worlds :)

  • I've lived in Ontario my entire life, so I don't understand why someone wouldn't want to live here!

I've been to Victoria, BC before to visit a friend and it was beautiful there, but the cost of living is unbelievable.

So true about the 4 seasons in one day :)

I have spend most of my time in Edmonton and I love it here. Very Arts and Culture based. I have also heard really good things about Medicine Hat as the weather is supposed to be fantastic.

  • I have lived in Cranbrook BC (small town) Montreal and currently Calgary.  I would move to Victoria in a hot second.
  • I live on Vancouver Island and Victoria would be my top city to live in.

  • Sorry guys got busy!

I am currently looking for a job but there is nothing in Montreal. Marc is a programmer and wants to stay in that field, he loves it. So we'd be looking at places that have a lot of programming jobs.

I do not really understand why he doesn't like Ontario lol. Maybe it's still to close to Quebec for him.

We were looking at Victoria but it is so expensive. Anyways we are still going to look and see what there is.

    Thanks for the help!!!!

  • Move to Saskatchewan.  The people are friendly and there are jobs everywhere.
