DH called me a little over an hour ago and told me our next door neighbor had been cornered in his garage by two pitbulls. He was able to make it into the house with a few scratches. They were not trying to play. They called the cops and figured out the dogs were hanging out with the construction workers in the house they're building behind us.
I went and picked up DSS from school and drove him the 1/2 mile home, with his bike half hanging out of my trunk. When we got home I looked out my back window and there are four cops standing in the backyard behind mine, perimeter-style. They've now been there since I first looked almost an hour ago. This whole thing started about an hour and a half ago.
I'm curious as hell, but I don't want to be nosy-Susie that goes out back to ask them what's going on and if they know whose dogs they are. So I will just sit here and peek out the blinds, and share my neighborhood-mongerings with the 157-odd people who open this post.
And wondering if I should take pictures. Yeah probly not really but hey, I'm procrastinating the other 10 things I need to be doing, one of which is watering my new plants in the back yard.
Re: Cops in my back yard
Yikes! If this were my old neighborhood, everyone on the block would be out on the street gossiping about it. Yes, probably even with a threat of wandering rabid dogs.
I'd be peeping out the window, for sure!

I would totally go ask! but I'm nosey like that, too.
you could play it off like you have young kids and you're worried (well, younger than your DSS) - that doesn't sound like a situation an adult would like to be in, much less kids.
You know what I have pictured in my head? This wall of police officers with giant guns. Then little 'ol FCB strolling out there.
"Yoo hoo? Excuse me? Gentleman, may I ask..."
And BOOM guns are drawn, pointed at FCB, when them saying in a very stern voice, "Ma'am, step slowly back into your house."
Hehehe. I have watched too many action movies with DH. Esepcially since I cannot picture FCB saying "Yoo hoo?" Hehehe.
I was thinking this same thing.
she should say "yoo hoo!" while holding a pitcher of lemonade. I'm sure it's hot out there and they'd appreciate a cold beverage!
hi-larious! They're gone now... I totally should have gone out there, though. Took me too long to brew my sweet tea.
Hahaha! Nothing but the best home brewed ice sweat tea for our law enforcement officers
No. DH looked up the call and they were there for Animal Aggression. He thinks they were just waiting for Animal Control to show up.
The whole thing is just sad. I doubt if they did belong to the workers any of them claimed the dogs.
