Hibachi/Japanese restaurant suggestions please
can any of you wonderful ladies suggest a nice hibachi/Japanese restaurant in either the harrisburg or hershey areas? my brother, sisters, and significant others want to take my parents out to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary and harrisburg and hershey is a great meeting point for all of us. thank you!!
Re: Hibachi/Japanese restaurant suggestions please
I'm a big sushi fan! If you're looking for sushi alone, I recommend Sapporo East located on the Carlisle Pike across from Red Lobster. Hands down, the best sushi in the area! They do have Hibachi, but it's not the traditional Hibachi style...cook it in front of you type thing. If that's the experience you're looking for, I would not recommend it. Sapporo is BYOB.
For Hibachi, Lesli is right! Benihana is very nice and the atmosphere is great. They also serve alcohol.
I also visit Tokyo Diner. They have an East Shore and West shore location. I've only been to the West Shore location which is on Simpson Ferry Road. The general atmosphere is not as nice as Benihana, but they do have private Hibachi booths which you can reserve ahead of time. Their food is comparable to Benihana. The West Shore Tokyo Diner is BYOB.
Mikado is another big Hibachi restaurant located on the West Shore. People rave about it, but I've been pretty disappointed. The atmosphere is very nice, but personally, I think they are overpriced. Soups and salads are ala carte. You can get more bang for your buck at any of the three restaurants mentioned above.
Also, you can usually find coupons to Sapparo and Tokyo Diner in the Clipper Magazine.
Have a great time!
Haha, okay. Now that I've written a book, I see that you were looking specifically for Harrisburg/Hershey. The West Shore might be too far! Have fun, anyway!
