Hi Monica!  I've got a few Europe questions for you.  A while back, there was a post about some shoes...maybe some you were trying to sell...and I think you mentioned that you wore them all around Europe.  What kind were they?  I'm looking for a new pair for our trip.  For some reason, I'm thinking they were Merrells...?

I haven't tried these on, but they look like they might be comfy...

Also, it looks like we'll be stopping in the following towns in Italy:

Venice - 2 nights
Florence - 3 nights
Rome - 3 nights

I know you're an Italy buff, so what are your thoughts on these towns...are we visiting the right places?  Also, will this give us enough time in each place to see the main sites?

We'll also be stopping in Paris and Germany...

Re: ***Monica***

  • Hey Celeste!  I'm sorry to butt in here, but have you purchased your tickets yet?  I searched on flights for next May yesterday from ATL to Venice (around $2400 total one-way for both of us) and Napoli to ATL (around $3600 for both).  It made me so sad that they were that expensive.  If you've gotten yours, were you able to find a good deal and what is your flight plan?
  • Don't worry...I got the same sort of rates on expedia.com....BUT go directly to Delta.com.  They have non-stop flights in and out of Europe pretty much every day.  I got rates of $1,775...for both of us...roundtrip.  That included flying from ATL to Paris...and from Rome back to ATL.

Also, we are working with a travel agent, and she has been great...I'd be happy to give you her info.  She sent us an itinerary and she did great on the price...you ought to give her a call!  I'm not sure what air fares she was able to secure, but I imagine it's a little better than what I found.

  • I didn't try directly through Delta and should have!  Please send her info to me at alwilliams21@hotmail.com.  That would be so great!  My hopes of Italy were dashed when I saw those prices.  There's still hope for us yet! :-)  Thanks so much!
  • BTW, I got these a few months ago for comfy, cute travel shoes and love them. Although, the ones that you picked out look a lot more sturdy.
