Hey all, just wanted to let you know that I'm still alive and kicking.
Today is Day 6 after the boys were born and I'm still in the hospital (Will and Dash are doing fabulous - all the problems are on my end).
The birth story and everything that has come after is pretty long so I'll probably have to write it in segments as an ongoing epic lol! Suffice it to say that 22 hours of labor, 3 hours of pushing followed by a c-section, the joy of being one of the 1% of women who get an epidural headache (fixed with a blood patch as of yesterday) and two hospital transfers have all taken their toll over the last week.
But we have the two most beautiful little boys on the planet now, and I am more in love than I ever thought I could be...to be honest, I always wondered what people meant when they wrote that they were in love with their baby, but I completely get it now! My boys are the most beautiful things in the world - they are perfection.
Ben has been amazing, especially with caring for them during the last couple of days when I was incapacitated from the headache - he's been pulling solo bottle feeding, bathing and diaper changing duty (with help from the nurses of course, but it's still been a massive effort on his part and I am so grateful for him). Breastfeeding has been a bit rocky and is a whole other post, but we're slowly getting there as well.
If all things go well with me today, we should be able to head home tomorrow - so please please please send good vibes!

Hooray, it's so good to hear from you, Lisa! I've been thinking about you since your induction day and hoping everything has been going as smoothly as they possibly can.
Your boys are so gorgeous, they truly are perfect! And hats off to Ben for being super daddy while you were recovering from the delivery. John was the one who changed little John's first diaper since it was hard for me to get in and out of bed but he's so proud of that and likes to tell everyone that he's in charge of diaper duty. I can only imagine how proud Ben must be feeling of himself to be able to care for Will and Dash like that.
And I know that he must be immensely proud of you as well. We all are!
Hope the rest of the recovery goes smoothly and I'm sending good vibes for the twins to make a smooth transition to their new environment once you bring them home!
It's so good to hear from you! We've all been thinking of you and the boys. Sorry that you are having some trouble, but glad to hear Will and Dash are healthy and strong.
Sending vibes for a speedy full-recovery!
