I'm in the nastiest hotel EVER
I had to come to Cortez, CO for work today...my day started out w/a 4 hr drive and my manager insisted on leaving ABQ by 6.00. That is already a bad day for me.
Then I get to the hotel...This place is disgusting. And this is my second room...the first one had a half-smoked cigarette on the table and used towels all over the floor. This room looks like the doorknob got ripped off and smells like an ashtray. And when the lady was giving me a new room she said "I got a couple of new housekeepers so who knows what's clean and what's not." EW!
I am SO not taking a shower here!
When we were driving to dinner we passed a Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn and Best Western...all looking like very nice places for where we are. And my manager told me that if we need to stay tomorrow night we can stay at the SUPER 8. WTF is it with the roach motels???
Damn you Nest for screwing up my siggy!

Re: I'm in the nastiest hotel EVER
Oh, there are some truly nasty hotels in the southwest in small towns. Especially when you are on a low per diem. We stopped in Trinidad once and I have never been so petrified of a hotel.
For work, we tend to camp out rather than go to hotels. It's the only way to stay in out per diem and not stay in a roach hotel.
Right after I posted this and lost internet, I looked at the bed and the pillowcases were covered in make-up and I swear there was blood on the side of the mattress...I was quickly moved to my 3rd room, but I only got 4 hrs of sleep on the concrete bed.
The thing is, i don't think we even HAVE a per diem! We can't stay at hotels for $500/night, but I think this manager is just cheap! And I also think he's going to make me stay here tonight too...but the hotel he pointed out looks just as bad.

Oh that's HORRIBLE!! I would pick your own place tonight if you have to stay! Oh I am so sorry!!
When DH and I were driving from ohio to abq we stayed in one place that made me cry it was so bad!! The toilet wasn't connected to the wall!! And since it took us 10 min. to complain we couldn't get a refund. they gave us "suite" and it was a little better.. still crap.
I am so sorry!!
Do you have to stay at the same place as your manager? I know in a lot of small towns you can just walk over to the next chain and see if it's any better. I know when we go out to Grants or Silver City for work, I stay in a different hotel than the guys because of the gross factor.
