Nostalgia fun!

I grew up wanting the Snoopy Snow Cone Machine so bad. I got it for my birthday and would sell snowcones for .25 at my mom's garage sale.

It is coming back for the summer, which is so cool!

What are some of your fun nostalgic pieces?

Re: Nostalgia fun!

  • I always wanted one of those snow cone machines! How fun.

One of my favorites was the Easy Bake oven, which doesn't really make sense since Mom would've helped me with the real oven anytime I wanted to bake. Maybe it was just the cute size that made it so fun.

  • All my dolls. My favorite was Cricket (the one with the tape player in her back).

  • oh yes! My sister had that thing.

I actually saw something similar to the Snoopy Snowcone machine in Target last weekend.

  • SD bought one of those "simon" light up games.  I think it has 4 colors and you have to remember the pattern to win.

    It was fun!

  • Shrinky Dinks too was another fun one!

    LOVED Shrinky Dinks!!

I absolutely loved my Fashion Plates, where you could mix and match the hairstyles with tops and bottoms and then put paper over them and rub it with colored pencils to create your fashions. Totally dating myself on this...

On the other hand, I was a little tomboyish at times and had to have my Stretch Armstrong (until I busted him and the goo came out).

Who was Stretch Armstrong? I don't think i remember. I loved, loved my Wonder Woman barbie that had little things in her arms and legs. I guess that is where she stored her super powers!

  •  I remember most of what you are talking about.  I had the Snoopy, shrinky dinks were a fav of mine and my sister got the EZ bake oven.... there are so many coming back.

One of my students mentioned getting a bedazzler!  I had one of those as well as a button maker.

Plus, a few Christmas' ago I got my uncle a rock em sock em robots and you would have thought I gave him a million bucks!

Stretch was a total boy's toy.  He was a big plastic man and you could stretch his limbs out like crazy, until a seam popped and he oozed all over. I can't believe they are actually coming out with a SA movie soon.

  • I loved Shrinky Dinks too.  I remember doing them.  I loved my Barbies and really liked playing with Legos.  I know Legos are still popular but I remember playing with them a lot.

I loved my Fashion Plates!  Those were the best.  I was so convinced I was going to be a fashion designer someday!
