I have a question about Realtors/Loan Officers HELP!!!

We are signing our loan docs tonight.  We are paying 100,000's of thousands for a house.  The loan guy and realtor get commission from our sale.  Is it etiquette to buy them a gift?  I was thinking no....but I wanted to check with you guys.

I feel in wedding mode with tipping vendors. lol

No, don't buy them a gift.  Often the realtor buys you a gift though...  They definitely shouldn't expect anything from you.
  • I don't think it's something you HAVE to do.  Only do it if you feel like your realtor went above and beyond.
  • NO!!!!! They already get a commission, if anything if you have a housewarming party - invite them - only and if you have a good relationship. But no...you don't have to get them anything!

  • when i was lurking around on the buying a home board this question came up alot and the girls always said no no no. They're making a profit off you. If you think your agent was extra special. And you guys have a great relationship, then thats up to you.
