Fidelity Investments Expanding in Albuquerque???

Hi ladies,

I'm a MA nestie, but I am hoping someone here might know about Fidelity Investments expanding in Albuquerque?  Anyone work there?  Have any info?  Thanks in advance!

Re: Fidelity Investments Expanding in Albuquerque???

  • The only expansion I've heard about is that Fidelity opened an investment center in ABQ Uptown 9http://www.abquptown.com/news_detail.sstg?id=250.

There's a metion in ths Albuquerque Tribuen article - http://www.abqtrib.com/news/2007/aug/20/10-things-know/

Other than that, I haven't heard anything about Fidelity in ABQ.

  • Thanks for this info! I'll keep poking around- I'm hoping to find out where they are expanding their Heath and Welfare division, and of course they are dragging their heel with the announcement!
  • Good luck on your hunt.

Usually, the ABQ Economic Developmnet branch of the Chamber of Commerce or the NM Business Weekly talk about new ventures or ocmpanies coming in. We've had a lot of corporate office come into the metro region in the last few years - GAP HQ, USFS financial offices, etc.
  • I'm hoping you see this - they just announced Fidelity is bringing in 1200 jobs into Mesa del Sol, the new development south of town. Here's a clip from the ABQ journal

International financial giant Fidelity Investments is expected to announce today that it will open an office at Mesa del Sol with 1,200 high-paying jobs.
Albuquerque Mayor Martin Ch?vez told the Journal on Wednesday that the company plans to build a 200,000-square-foot office at the master-planned development southwest of Downtown. The office is scheduled to open in early 2009.
Employees there would perform white-collar tasks such as human resources, with an average annual salary of $60,000, the mayor said.
"Any time we can bring high-paying work that has impact beyond our borders, it's a great infusion to our economy," Ch?vez said.
He said the state is expected to contribute $15 million in capital toward infrastructure, such as roads and utility lines, at the facility. The city will contribute another $1 million. Fidelity will own the building, he said.
Ch?vez said the agreement was the culmination of city and state economic development efforts to lure the investment company.
