I'm smiling at the forces of karma today. I live near UNM in an area that has 50% rentals. Most of the residents are either grad students, med/law students, or folks who work downtown. So we don't get that many crazy undergrad parties and shenanigans.
Our neighbor (who owns the other half of our townhouse) is a law student. He's a great neighbor and good friend. His younger brother and some of the brother's friends are subletting the plae for the summer.
Well, the guys have no clue that a party going on in the backyard at 2am on a worknight is NOT COOL to their neighbors. Twice in the last 2 weeks, I have gone over and asked them to please be quiet, mentioned the ABQ noise/party ordinance, etc. I explained that I have to up at 5am to get to work on time. They shrugged it off like a silly bunch of 19 and 20 year olds.
Well, the family in one of the townhouses behind us has some realatives visiting. Kids were up at 7am this morning playing in the backyard, etc. Poor college kids, the elementary kids woke them up. Plus, one of the families is getting a new roof and the workers come in at 6am and wake up the college kids. The college kids are all grumbly because their post-party hangover mornings are getting interrupted.
One came by this morning to ak if I had complained to that neighbor and I just laughed. Umm, I'm out of the house by 6am. All the adults who work are already up at that tie, so the noise doen't bug us. That's why the people scheduled the workers then - they checked with us to make sure the non-college kids would be up.
Karmatic payback is just fun!
Re: Karma always wins =+)
Although I'm a bit worried the good neighbor owner may not be coming back. It's pretty close to the start of the law school semester and there's no sign of him. (Although this happened last year too.)
