What would you ask?

If you were at the debate tonight (assuming the questions are not, in fact, scripted) what question would you ask of both candidates?

Re: What would you ask?

  • Can you guys stop being negative and start talking about the issues? Is that possible?

  • Obama: 3rd party payers add considerable cost and bureaucracy to the economy so why do your education and health care plans promote and mandate more of this as a way to supposedly cut costs?

McCain: Why do you support cap-and-trade policies when the general consensus among economistis is that it would dramatically hurt the economy and do very little (if anything) to curb greenhouse gas emissions. Why do you not support a carbon tax instead?

  • I'd probably ask a question about Zimbabwe or our interesting relationship with Ethiopia who just happens to invade other countries when we ask them to...
"We tend to be patronizing about the poor in a very specific sense, which is that we tend to think,
  • that's a good one mxolisi. Someone needs to throw them a curveball. I want to see both of them handle a completely unexpected question. I can't really think of anything. Maybe Gardasil or something. Ethiopia is probably unexpected too.

  • Guardacil, both would invoke states' rights, I presume.

I would like to see Obama clarify his position on late term abortions and if he wants to take "mental distress of the mother" off the table as a permissable reason, if he would also add "fetal health or deformity" in it's place.
