hey girls... i see it's kinda slow-moving in here, but i just wanted to introduce myself! my fi and i are getting married in early october and that's when i'll be moving down to NM from indiana.
he's already down there; he moved from PA for a job offer, and i'm
so happy to be joining him!
i'm welcome to any advice, on jobs, on Carlsbad specifically, or anything else! i'll check back in here more but i can usually be found on the October 2007 knot board. thanks girls!
Re: new to NM
Carlsbad is a neat place - with the Caverns, the Pecos River and Quadalupes there are some gorgeous areas. (Granted, they're hidden gems since you have to go find them!)
Carlsbad isn't a big city - it's more of a small town. The economy is mostly extractive industries (oil & gas, potash mining), health care (they have the regional medical cener there) and adricultural (the largest dairy in the US is near Carlsbad). For jobs, it depends on what skills you have. There are a good bit of support service and capital equipment jobs in the area.
