Sound off: Sandra Bullock/Divorce/Adoption

Re: Sound off: Sandra Bullock/Divorce/Adoption

  • First of all, I am totally shocked that they adopted a baby in January and manged to keep it a secret. Between his kids, all the media attention from her Oscar and their issues, and that someone sometime must have spotted this baby! Amazing!

Secondly, I'm glad she's divorcing his sleazy ass.

Thirdly (is that a word?), she has handled this with so much grace, and I really respect her for that.

  • I think it's awesome. I'm glad she's moving ahead with her plans.

  • That little boy is SO cute. Good for her, though! It is strange to me how life can change so quickly. Two months ago, she was so publicly gaga in love with her husband and now she's filed (rightfully so, IMO).

  • "My whole life has been full of hard decisions. The decision to let my wife end our marriage, and continue the adoption of Louis on her own, has been the hardest."

His "reaction" makes me so angry.  Hard decisions? Was it a hard decision to cheat on your wife (many times)? Was it a hard decision to unfairly go forward with an adoption knowing you weren't faithful?  He's letting her end the marriage?  I don't think you have any choice in that matter, buddy!

I'm happy for her for moving forward and doing what makes her happy. I hope her and her little boy come back to Austin. :)

P.S. I've always been an OCC girl and anti-WCC and I'm even more glad for it now.

Ugh, I didn't even read his response, and now I'm really glad I didn't!

  • Interesting--the People article stated it didn't know what jurisdiction she filed for divorce in. I assumed it would be Cali since that's where the marriage took place. According to the Statesman, she filed in Austin! Weird...

ETA: And that little article totally made me forget my entire purpose of going on the web site...to look at jobs! lol

  • Total respect for Sandra!  I hope they come back here too!

I wonder if she'd get any benefit to filing in Texas over California.  Hmm.

You're supposed to file where you've resided for the last 6 months.  She must be claiming Austin as her permanent residence even though they live in Cali.

  • She did file in Travis Co!  Wonder if she filed in person.  I used to work at the DC's office, and a several of my coworkers there had met her when she filed that lawsuit against her builder.
  • TMZ says she filed in Travis County, in Austin. They made it sound like because in Texas there is no spousal support for couples married less than 10 years Wink
  • That makes sense as far as her wanting to do it here.  Both states are community property, so that doesn't matter. He'll probably consent to it just to make her happy.

Oddly enough, I worked at the BCM location of Fox Photo when that was going down.  The builder guy came to my store and had several rolls of film developed and I mentioned to him that it looked like a big house in the pics.  Then he got all worked up and was asking me (accosting) what I thought of it, telling me he was in a lawsuit over it blah blah.  He never said it was w/ Sandra but I realized it later when I saw the pics of the house in People mag.  Ah, my brush with fame.

You are totally going to be my 6 Degrees to Kevin Bacon from now on!

  • Not to try to one-up joyco (even though I totally am) but I was in a scene with her in Miss Congeniality!

That reminds me, I need to get a screen shot of that one of these days...

    Uh, yes please!

  • Not to one up AustinBride (but totally am, hee), John Travolta came into my store and had some pics from "Michael" developed.  My husband actually did them for him.  They did that scene at Gruene Hall and those are the pics that he developed.

And I sold a camera to Earl Campbell.  So, nanny nanny boo boo.

    Alright, FINE!

I worked for the lawyer who repped Matthew Machoney. The first time he called, I totally thought it was a prank call, refused to put him thorugh, and took a message. He laughed the whole time. Thankfully one of the other lawyers saw my, "MM called, YEAH RIGHT" note and said, "Oh no! That was really him. Always put him through!" I saw him once. He only came in after hours, and I was still in the parking lot when he arrived Wink

I don't think he's cute AT ALL, so I'm not impressed.

I saw Matthew Broderick in NYC when I was 17 and my friend who was with me said, "Bueller.  Bueller." to him.  Yeah, b/c I'm sure he *never* gets that!  And I've seen Jude Law naked.  In person.

    ha ha ha!

um, I had to google earl because I didn't know who he is.  Embarrassed  can you tell I'm not a sports fan?

  • Kudos for her to not drag it out Elin style.  I hope she is able to maintain an integral relationship with his other children, they need some sort of class in their life.

Oh, I have Sandra Bullocks Viking stove in my house that was taken out of her house that was involved in the lawsuit.  Stick out tongue

Well if we're playing *that* game, here's mine.

I was at Mother's Egan's trivia night and ended up playing with the Dixie Chicks and Adrian Pasdar.

Also, when that movie "Hope Floats" was filming, I ran into (as in literally ran into) Harry Connick, Jr. at Central Market.   And since he was canoodling with Sandra Bullock in that movie, then it was kind of like bumping into her.  Full circle!
