So what do you ladies have up for the weekend? I have an engagement party tonight (it will be nice to sit back and watch someone else go through the wedding planning now!) and I just bought my MOH's (do I still call her that or is she back to being my best friend now? lol) Wii so DH and I will be playing with that tonight. Other than that, just running some errands and church on Sunday.
Re: Weekend plans??
I have a puppy play date at the beach and my usual weekly housecleaning.
I highly recommend Wii FitPlus now that you have a Wii, it's addicting and so much fun! Also if you like Mario Bros the new game is big fun and you can play multiple players at the same time. (DH and I play together and laugh because he keeps telling me to push the button to get into the bubble to catch up!
Enjoy your engagement party!
Yeah she gave us her Wii FitPlus with it. DH tried out the short distance jogging and didn't make it very far
I saw there was yoga which made me really excited because I LOVE doing yoga.
I played my friend's Mario Bros. and am definitely hooked on that. Any other game suggestions?
Have fun on the beach with the puppies. That sounds fun!
(long, sorry. I got a little carried away.)
This has been a super adventure weekend. My BIL and SIL have been OOT since Thursday for a wedding and we are watching their two kids, ages 5 and 7 until they return on Sunday.
I flunked day 2 of "playing mom" by getting them to school 5 minutes late on Friday. But hey, I was early to pick them up on both Thursday and Friday, so that balances, right? And, in my defense, it is a 45 minute drive to their school and we left on time.
Last night my niece had a sleepover with her friend from her old school and will be dropped off at our house in a bit. My nephew had a bit of a breakdown last night because his nose was stuffy. I gave him medicine and he was crying and upset while also being overly tired and past his bed time. He's autistic and is the sweetest little boy ever. It felt awful not being able to help him more, but it felt amazing to have him snuggle up and accept the love we were giving him. I've been part of his life for 3-ish years and while he's accepted me socially, this has been the first real emotional acceptance.
This morning, he came into his parents room where we were sleeping and crawled between us and watched cartoons for an hour. Neither of us slept well, but it was emotionally fulfilling to have the little munchkin between us. I'm also hoping that this will help my let's-get-busy-making-a-baby argument.
Today, we are going to Legoland. Yes, we are the spoil-the-kids-rotten aunt and uncle. (We also got super cheap tickets and it's only a 40 minute drive.)
...and speaking of Wii... my nephew is playing ours and LOVES Sports Resort. It's DH's favorite game too. It's got a lot of multi-player and single-player options and each game uses different motions. I like FitPlus too. Wii Music is awful. We've tried to figure it out twice and it really is for someone who has musical abilities, unlike us. Mario Party 8 is one I like playing with a friend, but DH doesn't find it as amusing.
Tonight I'm cooking dinner and we are watching a Netflix movie. Maybe a dusk bike ride (we finally got me a bike so we LOVE to ride at night together).
Tomorrow we are getting the key to our new apartment! woohoo. Then we are going to pick up some furniture I bought from craigslist. (hello $120 king bed and $30 nightstand.) So excited to be moving in finally!
Yesterday was a flurry of chaos that landed DH and I home around 11:30 last night. I had lunch with a friend and her 8 year old twin boys, then headed off to the BM's (well, or our best friends... =]) house for their son's first bday! OMG, that kid got toys like it was Christmas morning -- mommy and daddy think they're gonna have to move so they have room for them all! The best part of the party, though, was him eating his cake -- it had blue icing and he was a little smurf by the time it was all said and done!
Today, if DH ever gets out of bed, we're headed over to his parents' house for his grandma and her twin sister's 85th bday party! Then tonight, I get to study for a Personal Finance test and a Business Law test. Aren't I lucky? 2 weeks to finals!!!
I remember my nephew's first birthday. All he had was a cupcake but I swear he had icing in his hair, his face, all up his arms, EVERYWHERE! It was amazing and adorably cute at the same time.
Yay for finals! Well...not yay for the finals but yay that you're only 3 weeks from graduating!!!! WOOHOO!!!
Beaching with the puppies was to much fun! This was my dogs first trip to the ocean and he was a little unsure what to think, but he loved playing around on the beach. I'm sure after a few more trips he'll love it.
DH loves the Metroid game for the Wii and he and his friends play MarioKart and Super Smash Bros a fair amount.
Sounds we've all been busy!
