It is Brazilian Cherry and I still love it to this day.
Although, I will warn you that with kids, it gets nicked up pretty good :-) but others have told me they never noticed unless I pointed it out.
PS, If you are obsessive with cleaning, you may not like it. It shows dust, water spots, spills really easily. I'm pretty good at ignoring it so not a big deal for me.

OK, even with the scratches, I still love it. I found it in a department store catalog years ago and showed it to the builder and they told me what it was.
I think we are going to go with the same in our living/dining area...if we get the house that is.
