Good Morning! How was everyone's weekend?

We had a great weekend, and really took advantage of the gorgeous weather.

I had a half-day Friday, so I met DH for lunch at Union St. in Newton, and we sat outside, it was wonderful.  Saturday we took a long walk with the dog, and ended up at the Newton Fun Fest (a kid's carnival), and enjoyed some corn dogs and ice cream.  Saturday night we went to over to a friend's for a cook out to celebrate her birthday, I was definitely "over-served" on Sangria!

  • That sounds like a great weekend, Buckeye.

Mine was a little bit of a whirlwind.  I took a very last-minute business trip on Friday and didn't get home until about 9:30pm.  A friend had flown in from L.A. earlier in the day and is staying with us until Wednesday so I caught up with her and her adorable 8-month old DD for a few hours before heading to bed way late.

Saturday I was at a v-ball tournament most of the day and then spent much of the night boiling water :P

Sunday we ran a bunch of errands, including getting a birthday gift for my sister and a Mother's Day gift for mom.  Visited my grandfather in his new secure nursing facility, then made dinner and hung out with my friend some more.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • I love Union Street. Great little spot!

We didn't do much this weekend and it was great. Hung out outside and did some yardwork but that's about it. I loved every minute of doing nothing!

  • weekend was good...We had a BBQ at our house on Saturday so I spent the day getting ready for that.  We had a great time and the weather was awesome.

Yesterday was (obviously) HOT, so we spent a lot of time inside with our AC on.

  • Mine was a lot of fun.

Saturday a group of us went out all day & night in Boston for a friend's birthday, and all crashed at my place.

Sunday was mostly post-party cleanup and trying to get our A/C to work.  This didn't happen during the day, but fortunately got fixed in time for us to sleep comfortably.

Now I'm back in the office which apparently had A/C issues this morning.  When I came in, it was just as swampy as outside, and probably warmer.  It's getting better, though.

I feel for you girls in the areas with water issues!  Fortunately, this only effects me at my office (Boston) and not at home (Braintree).  I think that my skin is going to fall off by the end of the day, though, with all of the Purell 'baths' that I have been taking!

The weekends have just been flying by lately.

Friday when I got home DH was finishing up planting the bushes we had for the front of the house, so I was super excited to see the progress.

Saturday we went down to CT and took MIL out for lunch (early Mother's Day) then had dinner with some of DH's friends from home.

Yesterday we went out and (melted) bought the last few plants we needed to finish the front area of the house and planted them. It was hot but we wanted to get it done.

  • My weekend went by much too quickly.  DH and I (haha, not FI!) didn't get home until about 9:30 Friday night, and we just ordered some food and went to bed.  Saturday and Sunday we just hung out at the apt, and SAT. ALL. DAY.  We are online gamers, so we played our new game most of the two days.  We did go get some bottled water and frozen foods yesterday, because the map showed us in the affected water area, but late last night apparently it was discovered that our water is separate.  Saturday night, I never fell asleep, so I went to bed last night and crashed so hard I never even heard DH come to bed, or get up for work today!  I have only just now woken up. :x

  • My weekend, for the first time in a while, was full of things I wanted to do, and hardly anything I had to do. :-D

We cleaned out the basement a bit on Saturday, then had dinner at Daedalus in Harvard Sq and dessert at JP Licks (I've never been, one friend was horrified so we stood in line for about 20 min, ha). Sunday we went to Nashoba for brunch and then worked in the garden. Poor DH sliced his foot with the weed wacker, and vowed to never again do yard work in sandals.

I also baked chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookies to give away, a really, really good rosemary and olive oil bread for myself, and spaghetti and meatballs for dinner last night (I burned the sauce, but the rest was good) .

  • I was sick all weekend, but I did get to plant a couple of veggies in my garden.  Well, in my pots that I call a garden.

The water ban was a huge hassle, but that looks like it will be fixed soon.  Thankfully!
