haha I guess you weren't here the day that I posted my birth story, but yes I had a home birth. If you need a midwife mine was awesome, very natural and she has the highest schooling/accreditation that you can have as a homebirth midwife.
She is a Certified Professional Midwife and she is great, she really cares.
Let me know if/when you need to know her name, she does an interview at the beginning if you like as well.

Rather than page Jaye in a separate post...
Your tortilla recipe is excellent! We tried it this weekend and we are in love with the results. Never buying pre-made tortillas again
Can't wait to meet my baby boy!
Thank you SO much Christina! I told DH that I knew someone who had a successful home birth and I think he feels better that we aren't living in a fictional fantasy world.
Taylor - I'm glad you liked them! I love how chewy they are. They really remind me of the fresh tortillas you can get right off the hot plate in Mexico. I shared a tortilla pack with my Mum from Bountiful Baskets this week. Those tortillas are really good too, much more of a homemade taste, but they are the very thin variety - so I still think we'll be doing most of ours at home.
One of my good friends had one last year and will be having another one in december.
Another friend had one 2 weeks after me.
And Another friend will be having one in July...we are starting a trend....all with the same MW
That is terrific! I really hope the trend catches on widespread!

When i read your story about your home birth I was so inspired. I talked to my FI about it that night and while we are a ways away from TTC i would seriously consider this
Cj was a little concerned about it at first but i think the more we talk about our future and the things we want in it for our future family he is coming around to the idea of things
as long as you are low risk then it is a very good option should you decide to do it. It's great because you have to just KNOW that you can do it, the pain isn't as bad as some make it out to be. Partially because you can move around and you aren't stuck on your back the whole time which makes it more painful!
That is awesome! i know my sister said that when she had her daughter that the hospital just for my niece was like 6k plus! i couldn't beleive that. i mean she wasn't sick or there wasn;t anything wrong with her anfd she was in the room with my sister! plus i think it would be nice you know for sentimental reasons to have the little ones in our home
Wow, that isn't a bad cost at all!
It really disturbs me how much child birth is treated like an illness in this country. It's NATURAL for goodness sake!

Really good timing on posting this! In San Diego I used a midwife for Well Woman Care instead of a gyno and I wanted to do the same when I get to Phoenix. Do you know if your midwife does Well Woman care or know of a good place I could go to? You can e-mail me at jebuell(at)gmail(dot)com if you don't want to post all the info on here.
