that the Tylenol my child has been getting has now been recalled. Thanks, Tylenol, for letting me fill my child with this crap.
Re: I'm so glad
Not cool.

Thanks. I just gave T some Motrin last week. Boo.
Mere is so cute!!!
DSM - T is so cute in that pic!
Mere hasn't gotten the Motrin. It was still in the package b/c it wasn't recommended under 6 months. This is only the first bottle of Tylenol we've used, so she hasn't gotten tons of it, but I'm still so irritated!
Out of all the medications I had, nothing was recommended for under 6 months, so I went by weight, and gave him a slightly smaller dosage. The poor kid is almost out of the "6 month" weight category already...so huge. And wearing 6-9 month clothing...what the heck.
Wow, what a big guy
That's funny. The outfit Mere is wearing today is 6-9 and the pants are a little big on her. I think she's going to be in 12m shirts and 6-9m pants this summer. She's thinned out even more since she started crawling at *7* months!
Don't forget guys, Perrigo makes the NBE (national brand equivelent) of all those McNeil recalled items at a fraction of the cost! Bascially any store brand you see (Equate (wal-mart), Rite-aid, Walgreens, Meijer, Target (Up & Up), CVS, etc is Perrigo. We are held to the same FDA regulations as the national brands.
McNeil has actually had several adult items recalled the past few months as well, same brands, Tylenol, Motrin, etc. We've seen our sales dramatically increase as the nation brand items have been out of stock due to the recall. More people are realizing they get the exact same product for so much less $$.
Ok, I'm done ?
Yeah, we will be sticking to the generic forever, I think. With all that has happened with Tylenol in the last several months and now this? Yeah, no more.
Charlie has croup and a double ear infection. I got reimbursement for 5 bottles, 4 of which were almost empty. Jerks.
Also, I picked up 1 concentrated Tylenol drops, 1 children's motrin and 1 infants motrin for $12 total at Target. That is much more affordable!
Holy smokes Em!! Poor Charlie! Little fella has got to be miserable with all that going on!!
Yep, I know some people think there is assurance in the National Brands but fact is we get audited by the same FDA inspectors everyone else does. I'm all about spending less to get the same or better quality!
I did some job-shadowing for Perrigo people last year. They sent us a pacakge of generic drugs. It was the best package I've ever received.
We've been stocking up on generic at Perrigo. Love that place!!
Also, our pediatrician gave us a sheet for dosing by weight for tylenol and motrin since the bottles don't give that info for the younger babies. I'd be happy to share the info with you guys if you're interested.
I'll take a copy. ker.co@hotmail.com
Thanks!
That is so awesome that you guys buy our stuff!! The company store is such a huge money saver for people!
Not sure if all of you know this but a year or so ago we acquired a company that makes the equivelent of Pedialite. We make it in the big bottles, the 4 pack of 8 oz bottles, the freezer pop style and the strips that go on your tongue. Even more good news....we also just recently acquired an infant formula company so we are now making all the the equivenent powdered/liquid formuals (Enfamil, Similac, etc, just in the store label).
So next time you are at the Perrigo Company Store, look for those items and save yourself even more money !!!!
Ok, I promise I am done now ?
I have never heard of this place before
where is it? Is it different from buying the off-brand stuff from a store in the area?
Ummm I would love a generic version of Similac! T is going through a big can of that every 4-5 days...at $21 a can. Gulp.
Are you a costco member? the Kirkland brand is just like similac, i think there are 2 very small differences. It is about $20 for 2 cans.
We (Perrigo) actually make all the meds/vitamins/now infant formula for Kirkland (Costco) and Members Mark (Sam's). If ever you see this : on the label by the Exp date, those are Perrigo products. We're just starting the lable conversions on all the formulas so those might not have the : yet, but they will.
The Perrigo Company store is downtown Allegan so it would be a bit of a drive from Muskegon but the savings would make up for the trip. They have everything from diaper rash ointment, gas drops, infant tylenol, children's allergy stuff, all the adult OTC items you could imagine.
My husband owes me a lot for the money I'm saving us by milking my milkers three times a day lol!
I almost always buy everything in the Up and Up (target) brand. I love their products!
Of course, I sent DH last time and he bought the Motrin brand...recalled ::shakes fist::
annnnd I just spit out my diet coke LOL. I tell my DH the same thing!
