A/C and furnace tune-ups/maint

Do you guys get maintenance done on your units every year?  Every other?  Who do you use?  If you feel comfortable stating, how much does this run you to get them checked out?  TIA!!!

Re: A/C and furnace tune-ups/maint

  • We don't do regular maintenance on our furnace or central air unit.  We switch out the filters every season and check 'em pretty regularly to see if they need changing before.
  • We had both get a tune-up last Fall...  Our furnace is older, and we were afraid it needed to be replaced.  I can't remember how much it cost, but it wasn't that expensive-- I can hunt down the bill if you want.  (We used Sales' Heating & Cooling in Holland.)  Since our furnace is a senior citizen, we'll probably have it checked again this Fall.

M's company sells/licenses furnaces & AC's, so I'd like to be able to do an employee purchase than an emergency (full price) order.

  • L you don't have to check your invoice.  The co you used is too far away from me anyway.  I think it's time we at least had our units checked out.  We haven't done it since moving in.  I'd rather do maintenance than replacement if YKWIM.

If you need a place, we go to Godwin. Brian said we have a maintainance check on it not that long ago, however I had no recollection of this AT ALL. We did have issues with it this winter, so we had them come out to fix the problem and do a tune up.

Leigh - our furnance is so old too, but the repair guy gushed and gushed about it, how it was built like a tank and should last a while.  I have never seen someone so excited about a furnance.

  • One of my good friends Dad's owns AccuTemp heating and cooling. I'd highly recommend them. Really great company, good rates, and best of all non creepy repair guys. They will tell you straight up if something is cheaper to fix or replace, and won't bs you about stuff.
