Any coupons...bottle slips...???

The lady as the grocery store asked me that and I asked her if I could redeem two kids - would that count towards my bill. She busted out laughing.

The kids were doing very well until we got in line and the there was an issue with the 1st person in line, so it took forever and their patience ran out. The girls were sitting in one of those grocery carts with the bench seating (I hate pushing those things around as they are so huge) so they were sitting next to each other. By the time we got in line, they started picking on each other, fall over one another, pushing each other's buttons.

I always feel so proud of myself when I go grocery shopping with the two of them and survive. Big Smile

  • This makes me laugh.  My sister and I are farther apart in age than your two girls, but my mom got to the point (when we were a little older) where she just stopped taking us shopping.  It wasn't worth the trouble she said.  LOL.  So from the kid aspect, I know where you are coming from!!!

  • That is why I do Meijer Grocery Express.  I can't stand grocery shopping as it is, especially not with DS and I can't imagine doing it with two kids!  You are my hero!

  • Hahahah. I always end up picking the line that looks the fastest, but is really the slowest. I'm dancing and singing to keep Mere sane in the cart :o) I keep taking her, though, b/c I don't want to end up like my last nanny boss who couldn't take her kids ANYWHERE b/c they didn't know how to behave!

  • Haha, that's funny.
  • Going grocery shopping with just Ben makes me crazy - I can't even imagine going with 2 young girls! You are my hero :)

  • Ha, don't give me too much credit. I usually go at night after they are in bed. It is my quiet time, but I needed to go this morning, since we had a picnic at the Gardens when Brian got out of work today. I'm actually trying to get better about "sucking it up" and just doing what I need to get done, even if I have the two kids with me.  Sometimes I feel like I'm a wimp because I hold back because I don't have the energy or courage to do something with both girls. It is nice to hear that other parents (both current and our parents) didn't attempt shopping with the kids.
  • I never mind doing it with just one, but when I'm outnumbered, there's no way I'll do a longer grocery run.

My mom never took all 4 of us shopping together (can you imagine Indifferent?)  she would take one of us as "special time" and leave the others with my dad or neighbor or, if it wasn't me, I'd watch the sibs.
