XP from MM, Soda Stream Machine
The soda stream infomercial almost sucked me in this morning. Anybody care to share your reviews? Is it worth it to buy one? How do the flavors they have compare to name brand sodas? I would also be interested in expermenting with juices to make my own flavors, anyone tried this?

We had one about 5 years ago, so things could have changed. We liked it at first, but I felt it was difficult to keep the soda bottles as clean as I would have liked. They couldn't go in the dishwasher.
I like ours. We drink mostly setzer. Almost all of the soda mixes I have seen have sweetner.The bottles also expires after a few years (which makes sense if you think about the pressure they're under).You do need to hand wash them.
Sometimes I mix a bit of apple juice concentrate in with my water for a slight taste. I don't realy drink soda though.
Environmentally, its a great idea. Why ship all that water all over the place when we have a clean relatively cheap source in our homes?
DH just got me one for my birthday this weekend. Love it so far. e got the sample pack of syrup mixes, but I dont care for them. they are really sweet to me. but I wanted it for the seltzer. I made some and have just been ading a few raspberries to it and its so good.
I won one on a blog giveaway last weekend, and I'm SO excited to try it when it gets here. I mostly want it to carbonate juice and water, but I'm looking forward to trying the pop flavors that come with it.
SodaStream is supposed to be releasing new mixes later this year that will be sweetened with cane sugar instead of Splenda.
