We did.
Friday I took a 1/2 day vacation and DH met me at work. We left his car there and drove up to Charlotte. We visited a cafe that wants to use our coffee and then we enjoyed the area. Afterward, we met friends for dinner and talked for hours.
Saturday I woke up early so I decided to fix my hair and paint my nails. Then DH and I went out to the comic store and hungout with one another. That evening we went to the Spring Fling (a local festival with music and local vendors) with friends. It was fun and DH bought me a pillow pet which is awesome!! Plus, I got a candy apple and an Italian ice =P. Afterward, we went out for a snack with friends.
Sunday DH let me sleep in. We had a business meeting with the cafe that's interested in us. They came around 12 and left at 10. It was a lot of fun and looks like a good prospect, but it was exhausting. DH and I watched some tv and passed out after they left
So ladies, let's hear about your weekends..
Re: Everyone have a good weekend?
I typed mine--but realized it sounded boring, so I'll just say we had a really nice typical time with the kids this weekend--although it was farkin' hot out! AND we have the garden almost done! Just add plants!
I am glad I didn't do the Broad Street Run, though. I'd have passed out for sure!
And we did go fishing, but I think I caught poison ivy vs. a trout... If I did... and it goes to my face like last year... (I don't even want to consider how BSC I will be... )
Fri- DH took me out for my birthday.
Sat- Morning was not great. DH and had been working on a car that we had aquired and was trying to get it running for my mama because her truck has bit the dust. Well we get it going and DH take it's for a test drive and the motor blows, rods start knockin' and it was just horrible. I really wanted to help my parents out with this car.
Sat- Afternoon my parents came over and brought Turbo. They took the car news fine, but I was still upset. Although the puppy did make it better. We had a small cook out for mine and DH's birthdays. Then went to the Blue Suade Cruise(Old car show). It got rained out but we saw a few cool cars.
Mama & Daddy spent the night and mama went to church with us but Daddy stayed at our house because he wasn't feelin' up to par. He's still dealing with healing forn the surgery.
Sunday- Went to church, mama & daddy went home, we ate more cook out food. DH and went home and played with Turbo. Then we ate at Pizza Hut bought some groceries for this week and rented a movie.
Our weekend was good...nothing too exciting.
Fri - we tried a new little locally owned restaurant. It was just ok so we probably won't go back unless we get a good coupon. Afterwards we took a little walk and sat on a park bench and people watched which was really nice.
Sat - I did some shopping at a scrapbook store and then met DH at Lowes to look at flowers to plant in our front flower beds. Unfortunately I got a call from work and we had to leave so I could take care of the problem. In the evening we went to a comedy club.
Sun - before the rain set in we did a bunch of yard work. We had lunch at a Mexican restaurant and then went home and just did a little housework and watched tv and played video games.
Not really. Spent Friday evening sick. Spent Saturday and Sunday on the couch. Missed my BF's bridal shower.
Finally felt better this morning...just in time to go to work.
We had a great weekend!
Friday: went to the gym, ate, and then went to bed!
Saturday: we spent the day out on my new boss's 42' cabin cruiser for the opening day of boating season on the lake - very fun! Saturday night, I went out with my sister and one of my bffs for her birthday - a very great dinner, movie, and slumber party
.
Sunday: we spent the day hanging out with my sister and her kids, and waited by the phone for news about my nephew, who was born last night!
Lets see.....
Friday went and ate fried chicken, colalrd greens and yams at a little fried chicken place down the road called Off Da Hook
Saturday: woke up exhausted...I couldnt sleep very good that night. Went to work. came home....ate dinner and was up late getting all my yard sale stuff together....Had a anxiety attack over the dumb yard sale.
Sunday: woke up exhausted, between friday night and sat night I only got 9 hours of sleep for 2 days
The yard sale went good. I made about $70 and my sister made $100! after they left, we went and got some lunch. took a nap (which I never do!!!) then watched P.S. I love you...laid low. Did nothing for the rest of the evening.
Friday - BIL and a friend of DH's came over and they all played Warhammer (like oversized chess, in really simplistic terms).
Saturday - vegged out. Saturday night watched DH's youngest cousin make his First Communion, and celebrated with dinner at Olive Garden, and ice cream cake at DH's aunt's house - though we couldn't stay long b/c I didn't feel well.
Sunday - church, breakfast and then vegged out some more. Made a quick run to the store to get a couple groceries and some things for dinner. Watched the Steven Hawking special on the Discovery channel.
Friday - relaxed at home
Saturday - went to a cake show, which was neat. One of my close friends is a pastry chef, and she had entered a cake. There were some pretty awesome things there, including a life-size Big Bird made out of Peeps! It was just disgustingly hot the whole weekend, so I felt kind of sick.
Sunday - ran a few errands, cleaned a little, then spent the remainder of the day on the couch watching an I Love Lucy marathon, and enjoyed.every.second of doing nothing.
On Friday, I took the day off from work and took Scarlett to Disneyland. I had no idea she'd get so much out of it! She loved it. She wanted to touch everything. When we went on Pirates, she threw her arms in the air while we went down the slides. And I think it's a small world was a revelation to her. She noticed so many things. It's so weird that her favorite part of everything was the stuff that would normally scare little kids. And she started kissing me. Big wet cheek kisses over and over. It was a happy day.
I lost my voice at Disneyland and I still don't have it back. I was sick the whole weekend and stayed home yesterday, too. We did manage to pack a few boxes, but they're everywhere in the house now and I hate maneuvering around them.
