Sleeping on the couch tonight
I took Sam to the vet today because he is still throwing up ever few days. The vet isn't sure what it is but commented that he had excessive gas.
Great now my husband and my dog have the same condition...excessive gas. I'm letting them sleep in the bedroom and I'm staying out on the couch tonight!!!
In the meantime I have to give Sam some doggie Tums to help him with his tummy troubles.
Re: Sleeping on the couch tonight
Have you tried Forti Flora for Sam?
When our dogs have mystery tummy issues, we use this and it helps them a lot. It works for the barfies and for the runs too.
It is a yogurt culture beef flavored powder that you sprinkle on their food.
We got it from our vet at first and then just from amazon.com b/c it is an OTC thing.

and does DH blame the dog for his gas? My DH used to... but now that we're dogless-he blames the kids.
Hope what SS recommends helps your Sam! I threaten to put Bean-O in our coffee grounds in the morning!
I'll have to check it out....I might even sprinkle it on DH's food if it gets rid of the gas
I totally agree with the idea of using a probiotic. They seem to really help a lot of pets with gastric issues. Sam may be developing food allergies, which can explain a lot of his tummy troubles. If the meds don't help, talk to your DVM about changing to a prescription diet. Trudie had similar issues (including the gas) and we feed her Hill's Z/D ultra . . . no more nasty gas, skin allergies are almost 100% resolved, and momma isn't constantly having to treat her skin folds for allergy goo.
Poor Sam has been battling this for a while, good luck with the new direction!
ditto! the vets I work for reccomend it all the time. I hope you are able to sleep in your bedroom again soon!
