Burn help

Saturday night I burnt my arm with a baking pan, it instantly melted the skin .. yuck! Sad

It didnt hurt too bad untill today, and its the kind of pain mixed with a deep urge to itch. Do you have a home remedy? Because the first aid cream isnt cutting it.

TIA!

Re: Burn help

  • I have some Lidocaine that seems to work well for me.  Do you have anything like that?  I don't know if it's a prescription or not.
  • no but I could pick some up... can you use that with it being a little 'raw'?

  • Yeah, I don't see why not.  It's basically like a thin gel.  What area of town do you live?  You're welcome to use mine.  I don't know that they sell it that plain & strong over the counter.
  • you're too sweet, thank you for offering! I actually need to pick up more bandages so I can cover it when I sleep. Made the mistake the first night of not, and it was no fun waking to that! If for some reason they dont have anything Ill let you know! (btw Im south).

  • Well I'm in Buda if you want to use it I'm happy to let you - I luckily haven't had to use it in quite a while.  I know how much a bad burn hurts.  Stuff has Lidocaine in it but I think you have to have an Rx to get the actual Lidocaine gel but not sure.

You can also put aloe vera on it.

  • they sell burn bandages that do really well.  they are big squares and you can cut them down to size.

    hope you heal quickly!

  • What everyone else said is great. And of course, the usual- let it breathe during the day at some point and yes, cover it at night. I usually just put burn cream or first aid stuff on mine. Oh and make sure it's covered in the shower. I like mine really hot and believe me that was a sharp reminder to cool the water down.

Good luck and hope it doesn't scar. :)

  • thank you ladies! Its feeling much better today, and it actually looks a little better.
