Two things regarding your update --
1) I woke up this morning to Zoey trying to bite Jinx (who was snuggled up next to me) and Jinx lazily trying to kick her away. Yeah, Zoey still doesn't like Jinx very much and biting, hissing, and swatting is pretty common. Usually, they tolerate each other well enough though. Hope your two kitties find some common ground soon and start getting along a little better.
2) My inlaws are visiting this weekend too. We had big plans for the tulip festival and a Whitecaps game. But now, because of the crummy weather forecast, I'm at a total loss for how to enterain them. I imagine you may be in the same boat, in which case, good luck! I hope your inlaws' visit goes well, regardless of the weather.
Re: **Chymes**
Is Zoey always the one that starts the fights? I think I'm at a loss because both of mine start the fights and so it seems like more of a mutual dislike. Also, Athena has always been SUCH a sweet cat, very social and loving, mild-mannered and pretty much goes along with whatever...so we thought that introducing another cat wouldn't rock her boat too much. To see her acting aggressive is such a shock to me.
I guess it's heartening to know that little spats are common with other kitty housemates, though.
And the weather forecast SUCKS! Yeah, Saturday is our Tulip Time day and Whitecaps game in the evening. Of COURSE that is the worst day of all of them for the weekend.
Come on, Mother Nature, they've only been to Michigan a handful of times!!!
I hope YOUR visit goes well for completely different reasons....or as well as can be expected....
Yeah.... this visit will be interesting. I can't say my husband and I are really looking forward to it. Even before the recent drama, visits from them were kind of weird and awkward.
Anyway, Jinx starts the fights just as much as Zoey does, but I truly think that Jinx is more interested in play-fighting, as opposed to fighting-fighting. I say that because Jinx never hisses or growls, while Zoey has a habit of doing both.
