Yay or Nay

Cereal Milk?

image

Made by soaking breakfast cereal in milk, and then filtering the result, it was the brainchild of pastry chef Christina Tosi. The product was intended as a flashback to childhood, when certain of us supposedly enjoyed drinking the milk after we'd eaten the cereal even more than eating the cereal itself.

Re: Yay or Nay

  • Interesting idea, but I was never a leftover cereal milk drinker, so nope.
  • This is SO bizarre.  My H just mentioned "inventing" this a few weeks ago.  We were talking about cereal and milk and how he loved to drink his milk out of his bowl as a child after the cereal was gone because the milk was flavored like the cereal.  He said it would be a great way to get kids to drink their milk.

SO weird that it is a product.

  • I voted "blech" even though I love cereal milk as part of the cereal eating experience.  It probably was/is my favorite part, but I have no desire to drink the milk on its own.

I voted blech too.  It sounds gross.

  • I'm not a cereal milk lover either.  Drinking it and then having the overly soggy remnants of the cereal pass through my mouth makes me gag.  It is way too sweet for me too.
  • I yummed after reading about the soft serve ice cream.  Because, you know, it's ice cream.

The straight up milk though seems less yum.

  • The ice cream sounds good.  Somehow it is different in ice cream form.  We need a separate poll because these are two unrelated foods imo.  Stick out tongue
  • It's not the same if it's from someone else's cereal, duh!

Yeah that.  That just sounds weird and not at all appetizing.

2Cars, I think you nailed it!

  • I voted yum, b/c I always liked drinking the flavored milk from cereal, and still do.

Would I purchase cereal flavored milk in a can or carton?  Nope, never.

  • sick.  I never drink the milk out of my cereal. it is warm and chunky and sweet. sick.
  • I am a cereal milk drinker, but I would say NO WAY to this - that's gross!  part of the reason you drinkt eh milk is b/c you're just eating the cereal. That is totally nasty!
