alternative to flowers for MIL

of course, dh tells me last night that he wants to send his mom flowers for mother's day.  and of course, they won't get sent unless i send them.  and of course, most of the good deals are over (no more $19.99 dozen roses) by now.  so now i'm thinking, "what else could we send?"

there's loads and loads of stuff available on the net that we could send, but i'm wondering if you guys have an suggestions or recommendations.  (i looked up bundt cakes from nothing bundt cakes in cedar park, but when they ship it, it seems that the recipient has to assemble it themselves.)  i'm looking to spend around $20-$25 (including delivery), so any ideas? tia!

  • does she drink coffee or wine?  you could do either of those, or a box of chocolates.

or a GC for a mani or pedi to a local nail place.

  • A lotion sets, fragrance, exotic pastas and sauce,  you can find these in tjmaxx or ross.

  • Harry & David's has some cookie & chocolate treats for about $20. Not sure how much extra the shipping is, though.

  • go to proflowers dot com and enter "bones" as the keyword. They have $19.99 dozen roses with vase or $29.99 two-dozen roses with vase and chocoalte.

I think it's only good today.

i ended up sending 20 tulips in a clear vase for $19.99.  later, dh tells me, "oh yeah, don't send her lilies.  she doesn't like them because her dad died around easter, and they got a lot of lilies."  i love how he makes sure i have all the pertinent information beforehand!

eta: i also thought of "texas bbq sauce assortment", but i'll use that next year!
