Re: Another attempt to get things going on this board! A Poll!

  • What was your favorite thing about your wedding?  I'm cheating, I can't pick just one, so I picked my faves :).  1.Seeing DH for the first time right before I started to walk down the aisle 2.  Taking pictures afterwards in Busch Stadium 3.  Our first dance (we took dance lessons) and kept it a surprise, so no one was really expecting it.

What would you have done differently if you could?  Nothing

What is the best thing about being married?  Not having to worry about rsvp cards.....

When do you plan on starting to TTC (if kids are in the plan for you)?  Not for awhile yet, maybe in a couple years.

    2012 Races
    GO! St. Louis Half Marathon-2:32:13
    Omaha Half Marathon 9.23.12
  • What was your favorite thing about your wedding? The party. Everyone danced and had a great time!

What would you have done differently if you could? Invited the people we really wanted to be there. We expected 200 people and ended up having 160. We could have easily invited the friends we really wanted there. But we invited mostly family (247 people total to be exact). If I had known so many people would say no last minute, I would have invited more friends.

What is the best thing about being married? Being a family. Not being just bf/gf anymore. I love it.

When do you plan on starting to TTC (if kids are in the plan for you)? I want to now and so does H. But we're probably going to stop trying to prevent during the summer sometime.

  • What was your favorite thing about your wedding?Seeing everyone together.  It's been a few years since my family has been all together and even with a few missing people, it was wonderful. What would you have done differently if you could?I would have been more specific with the instructions for the bartender.  He served the wrong wine and we are now left with a lot we cannot return. (He served the returnable wine instead.) What is the best thing about being married?I like Jenny's answer: Being a family.  It always felt like we were family, but now it's much more "official."When do you plan on starting to TTC (if kids are in the plan for you)?I was hoping to stop preventing  this week, but I think H wants to wait another month.  It's going to take us a while to actually succeed, which is why I don't want to wait.  He's concerned (and legitimately too) about finances and wants to wait.  ...sometimes I wish I was able to cheat and hide and not take my pills.
    TTC #1 5/97 - PCOS dx 6/10 - Metformin 8/10 - Moved from Endo to RE 9/10 - 50mg Clomid 9/10 - 100mg Clomid 10/18 - BFP - Beta #1 = 91 - Beta #2 = 958 EDD 6/28/11 Tater Tot arrived 6/21/11 on his Great Grandmother's 90th Birthday
  • What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

    1.  Becoming husband and wife. 2.  Dancing with my family and friends.

What would you have done differently if you could?

I would have done my hair differently and had a different DJ

What is the best thing about being married?

    Seeing my new name!

When do you plan on starting to TTC (if kids are in the plan for you)?

Probably in 2 or 3 years, we are trying to wait until we are more financially stable.

  • What was your favorite thing about your wedding? I also cannot pick just one... 1) DH getting teared up when we did our first peek; 2) our phenominal band who really made our reception a party!

What would you have done differently if you could? I would have splurged more on the flowers... most flower quotes were double that of the one our florist gave us and our florist threw in a lot of freebies due to the location we were getting married at.  However, while everyone else thought everything looked fabulous, I was greatly disappointed with the tall centerpieces and our chuppah.

Also, I probably would have waited a day between the wedding and the honeymoon (wasn't really an option as when the cruise ship was leaving).  We just kind of felt rushed that morning to get everything done.  And, having only a day from when we got back from the honeymoon until we had to go back to work was rough as well.

What is the best thing about being married? Having an easier last name... jk.  DH and I say all the time that it really doesn't feel any different since we lived together before we got married, had a house, joint bank accounts, a dog, etc.  But the fact that we're a family unit now is pretty neat.

When do you plan on starting to TTC (if kids are in the plan for you)? Not for at least a few years.  We'll have any/all debt from the no-interest for x number of months credit cards paid off within the next few weeks and then we plan on saving like crazy to make up for the insanely high credit card bills from buying a house/the wedding.  Day care costs wouldn't fit into our budget right now and neither is only living on one of our salaries.

Emily, I'm pretty sure you need to answer this as well!

  • What was your favorite thing about your wedding? In terms of material stuff, the food. It was AMAZING. But emotionally, the best part (other than the obvious of everything to do with DH, of course) was getting to dance with my 3 best girlfriends/BMs who came down - especially after the earthquake making me think they might not make it after all.

What would you have done differently if you could? Organized formal photos better. It was kind of confusing/stressful, and I think it would have been worth it to go over specific poses with our photographers beforehand.

What is the best thing about being married? Just thinking about it! It makes me smile :) We lived together before, shared finances, etc. so otherwise it's not much different.

When do you plan on starting to TTC (if kids are in the plan for you)? Probably in 5 years or so. We have things we'd like to do first, and for now the restrictions that having a dog puts on our lifestyle are enough without having to factor in kids.

  • What was your favorite thing about your wedding?Definitely seeing all my family and friends and having my family finally meet DH's family. They all hit it off exceptionally well and that made things so much better. What would you have done differently if you could?Started paying on everything much earlier but other than that, as much as I bitched and moaned, absolutely nothing! What is the best thing about being married? Finally calling him my husband and not my fiancee or boyfriend! When do you plan on starting to TTC (if kids are in the plan for you)?:-D
  • What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

Everything ... but the reception was my biggest fav.

What would you have done differently if you could?

Had a hairdresser come to the house instead of going to my regular salon and end up being annoyed and pissed off with them.  AND the damn curls in my hair didn't even last till I got home.

What is the best thing about being married?

Being part of a "real" couple.

When do you plan on starting to TTC (if kids are in the plan for you)?

    Already there Wink

  • What was your favorite thing about your wedding?  Seeing how happy DH was during the ceremony.

What would you have done differently if you could?  I think I should have gone with a less elaborate dress.

What is the best thing about being married?  Everything.

When do you plan on starting to TTC (if kids are in the plan for you)?  Not going to happen.  But we do want to get a puppy and a kitten before the end of the year.

  • What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
-- Seeing Sean's face, not only that day, but the expressions captured on film showing how truly awesome that day way.

What would you have done differently if you could?
-- Picked a different photographer.  A family member saved the day, though! =]

What is the best thing about being married?
-- Having a united front and extra support with all the crap the fan throws at ya.

When do you plan on starting to TTC (if kids are in the plan for you)?
-- After we buy a house, so at least a year from now.

  • What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

Obviously seeing DH, my family etc.

The Ceremony was amazing, we worked really hard on picking music for our musicians and readings that meant something to us. Our Pastor was wonderful and the whole thing was so special. That really made the wedding for me, of course the reception was a blast too.

What would you have done differently if you could?

Had a smaller Bridal Party (they cause a lot of drama), done our mix cd for our/BP entrance myself as the person we delegated it to messed it up!

What is the best thing about being married?

Jennylee said it the best- being a family. Especially living so far away from my family I feel like I have more security now in some weird way.

When do you plan on starting to TTC (if kids are in the plan for you)?

The plan is not for a few more years, but Aunt Flo is pretty late right now so who knows! I plan on buying a HPT if she is not here by Saturday! I'll keep you posted!

  • What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

    Definetly the ceremony :)

What would you have done differently if you could?

Made my choices a bit slower, explained my vision better, more often and been a little more direct.

What is the best thing about being married?

The new name :)  Although, Im still adjusting a bit

When do you plan on starting to TTC (if kids are in the plan for you)?

Probably a couple more years.  Would like to get finances in order and finish school

  • What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

Dancing down the aisle with my dad (set the mood for the party to come!) and seeing my friends and family all together.

What would you have done differently if you could?

Not stressed so much! (yeah right) I also would have had my makeup done a little different, my eye makeup was rather heavy and made me look really tired.

What is the best thing about being married?

Having it finally be real and coming home to the most supportive and caring husband I could imagine.

When do you plan on starting to TTC (if kids are in the plan for you)?

TTC is on the back burner after our February chaos. We'd like to do more traveling and possibly get a house first.

  • My favorite thing about my wedding:

So hard to choose...but the place we got married was amazing!!  They did such a wonderful job with the service and the FOOD!  Everyone has been raving about the FOOD!  For me...the best part was probably before the wedding, when my husband ( then FI ) sent over a "gift".  It was so touching...it was a rose dipped in gold and engraved. My future stepdaughters were there to help me open it and it was just a really special moment.  I also really enjoyed getting ready with my mom, stepdaughters, and sisters, and dancing with my dad.  I really had so many favorites...so hard to choose!!

Done differently:  I guess like PP I would have planned out the photos more...it was a little stressful, and they should have gotten all the photos with my bridal party done before cocktail hour and I should have made this clear that I wanted.

BEST Thing: That I can call him my husband and he calls me his wife.  It sounds so nice!

PLAN TO TTC:  Were trying now!! But personally, I would rather it not happen for a year!

  • imageEDK2010:

The plan is not for a few more years, but Aunt Flo is pretty late right now so who knows! I plan on buying a HPT if she is not here by Saturday! I'll keep you posted!

OMG...you mean someone may be joining me soon?? lol

  • What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

I can't pick just one either. I would definitely have to say the ceremony and seeing DH's face as I was walking down the aisle. Also, our first dance and the dance with our kids was amazing and I will never forget that.

What would you have done differently if you could?

I wouldn't have rushed the wedding, I would've waited and had it at the place I really wanted too, instead of where I did get married. The place was beautiful, but the people made it horrible and when I think about it, I tend to get upset and shed a few tears.

What is the best thing about being married?

Definitely getting to be a 'normal' family. DH and I were already a family before we got married because we have 2 children, but now it's all official. I love calling him my husband and having the same last name. Plus all the discounts we get now is such a great plus! =)

When do you plan on starting to TTC (if kids are in the plan for you)?

We have 2 already, but DH wants more. We'll see in a few years how our financial situation is and if I change my mind. Right now, I don't want anymore but you never know!

  • What was your favorite thing about your wedding? The biggest thing was seeing Josh's face when I walked through the door with my dad. I had talked about my dress so differently throughout all the planning, he was so happy to finally see it. He said I was worth waiting for :)

What would you have done differently if you could? Take less on myself to have a little more breathing room.

What is the best thing about being married? Falling asleep and waking up in the arms of my best friend, sharing his name, I could go on and on lol

When do you plan on starting to TTC (if kids are in the plan for you)? Well initially we thought right away. But we'd like to get school finished up first. We threw caution to the wind during the honeymoon and when we were slapped back to reality, AF came and visited lmao. We are thinking next year would work out a little better

  • imageEDK2010:

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?  DH's face during the ceremony.  It was the absolute best part.

What would you have done differently if you could? I would have a different DJ.  He jsut kinda did his own thing, even during the garter toss.  DH was not pleased.

What is the best thing about being married?  Being a family now.  And getting to say "my husband"  :)

When do you plan on starting to TTC (if kids are in the plan for you)?  2 weeks after the wedding...

Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker BabyFetus Ticker Anniversary
  • What was your favorite thing about your wedding?  I loved how fun everything was.  The ceremony started it all off.  Our piano player played really upbeat love songs before the ceremony to set the tone, then our music was really upbeat for the ceremony...and the officiant was so sincere, but funny.  FI was swaying back and forth in nervousness, and he made some funny cracks about that.  Then the reception was just kick butt.  We had glow sticks by the dance floor...and everyone had a great time partying.  It was super fun.  (see pics in my married bio for the rave-like fun we had dancing..PS.  we had a practically dry wedding w/ only champagne punch).

What would you have done differently if you could?  Not scheduled it before daylight savings time.  It was the night of the time change...and lots of people left earlier than we planned because of the time change.  I mean, we still had a fun time, but we ended an hour early because the place was thinning out.

What is the best thing about being married?  Sex! haha.  We waited until marriage and sex is awesome! :-)  Besides that, I love having him here every night and falling asleep beside him every night.

When do you plan on starting to TTC (if kids are in the plan for you)?  Not for years.  Hopefully that Nuvaring keeps working hard.  No kiddos for a while.  I gotta finish school, DH needs to get his business in order, and we want to buy a house first,

  • I'm late on the response, but here goes...

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

dancing with my dad.  we practiced for about two weeks before

What would you have done differently if you could? I wish the photographers were a little more on the ball with adjusting my hair.  I had a side piece that kept separating, and it shows in a lot the photos.  They say they'll touch it in, but it's not the point.  we spent over $5500 on this service, and there were two assistants with us that day.

What is the best thing about being married?

knowing that he's always got my back.

When do you plan on starting to TTC (if kids are in the plan for you)?

we're really do not want to get pregnant right now, so we're being careful.  if it happens, I guess we'd take it in stride, but I don't want to get pregnant till we've moved to Florida (we're in NJ now) and things are more settled...so maybe 2 years?

  • What was your favorite thing about your wedding? Having all my friends and family there!

What would you have done differently if you could? Done a better job organizing pictures.  B/c it was raining everything got rushed and I didn't get as many formal pics as I wanted.

What is the best thing about being married? Calling Todd my Husband

When do you plan on starting to TTC (if kids are in the plan for you)? We decided once we were married we wouldn't do anything to prevent it.  I ended up getting pregnant on our honeymoon.  So if everything goes well the next 5 weeks, I will be having our LO Dec 12th
