As promised a few pics of Amelia in her first few days. She is still doing really well and we are celebrating every min. of it.
On Sunday night I started having upper abdominal pain that I thought was heartburn that would not go away. I tried everything I could think of for about 3 hours and could not get back to sleep. It was so hard to lay down and I just had feeling something wasn't ok. After my sister's and co-worker's experiences, I decided not to take any chances. We went into the ER about 5:30am on Mon. They took my blood pressure and for the first time in my pregnancy, it is above normal. Not just high but literally twice the readout of my 28 wk appt. Since blood pressure is the largest part of pre-eclampsia, they admitted me right away. Within a few hours they were transferring us to a hospital that could handle a baby as early as ours if we needed to deliver.
We monitered my blood pressure but it was starting to affect my organs so they became concerned. It was determined that the original pain was my liver swelling as a complication. By the next morning it started to affect Amelia's heart rate at which point we needed to deliver via emergency c-section. An hour and a half later, we were looking at our little gitl.
It has been a whirlwind to say the least but she is doing really well. She is on a breathing machine so it is not so hard on her but she is even weening off of that. So far the doctors are really optomistic and we are hoping to get to hold her in the next day or two.
Thank you so much for the T&P eveyone, it means a lot to us. She is full of character already and we are so excited to share our pictures as we get them uploaded. I'm sure we will have more updates tomorrow. Good night!

Aww! What a precious, teeny little girl!! She's adorable! What a scary story though. She's going to pull through, I know it!
FWIW, I have a friend that had to deliver her baby girl at 29 weeks because she went into labor that couldn't be stopped. Come to find out she had some IUGR, and a true knot in her cord. She was born 1lb 9oz. She is a healthy, thriving two year old now!!

Awww, she's so little! Thanks for posting pics and keeping us up to date. Wow, what a whirlwind crazy day! I'm glad to hear you're fine and that little Amelia is coming along as well. Plus side: at least you don't have to go through the last two miserable months!
I can't imagine what it must be like to have not been able to even hold her yet! I'd like to officially request a photo of that when the time comes.
