DH is disgusting. He does not know how to clean or keep things in order. He holds onto items for years after he needs to because he's afraid to throw it away. He rarely handwashes more than one dish at a time (just the pot/pan he needs to use, never does ALL the dishes). He doesn't clean bathrooms or floors or pick up. He likes to keep all of this in our living room and he likes to keep tv tray's up all the time. It's DRIVING ME INSANE. I just found a bag of potatoes from god knows when that were liquified. I almost vomited. I'm happy to clean the bathrooms, I always did growing up, so that's easy to me and I keep it pretty clean. He will not do anything unless I hound him to do it. I asked him to clean TWO dishes last night. He did it this morning. When I ask, I want it done NOW not in 20 minutes or the next day. And it's not like he's doing anything important to warrant not doing it. We have a box he needs to shred from his job, WHY is it HERE?! He gets one bin to put his coaching stuff that he needs in it, and one small bin for the living room though he does not follow these, there are at least 5 boxes of his CRAP in the house of stuff that doesn't have a home and he hasn't gone to them in at least a year. I'm so tossing that crap. Seriously. I can't take it. He is such a packrat and will not get rid of anything unless I do it secretly and then he doesn't even miss it!! Surprise-surprise! I'm seriously fed up of doing ALL the cleaning. I may be home all day but dammit I have to work too!!!
whew, that feels better. He should be happy he's not home right now because after cleaning that up, I am not a happy camper.
Re: large vent.
I do that. I try to clean the entire house every other week and get soooo frustrated that he hasn't helped me clean. But he goes thru waves of helping and not. At least he's good about dishes and sometimes the litter boxes.

I am soooo sorry!!!!
Art has recently in the past month started cleaning without me. He finally got the place he was sooo tired of the mess he cleaned. I have been on the go non stop and haven't had the time.
Every weekend I ask him to help. Nagging or demanding does no good with my husband.
Good luck! I say hire a house keeper! It would help you out a ton.
What about setting a schedule for cleaning duties? Maybe he needs a system to manage himself? You will have to give David some tough love on this to get him moving on cleaning. Does he know of the mess that he's left behind?
Or can you take pictures and make them explicit reminders to him of the mess he leaves around? Oh the liquid chips would make me vomit in a second...I don't know what to tell you. That's tough Kara...I'm sorry that you have to deal with this.
I think you need to call Hoarders. LOL
it's not THAT bad, but i've threatened. LOL. Or clean sweep. Definitely thought about it more than once that I looked up casting info. LOL
I want to be on Clean Sweep! haha
But in all seriousness, I am the clutterbug in our house (M is too, but not as bad as me). When I think of the *&>?/! crap we have around our house--- UGH. But I never have a chance to de-clutter, because Liam isn't exactly "helpful" in that regard. What I would give for an afternoon of freedom and a dumpster in our driveway!!
So it definitely bothers me. Does it not bother David?
I think it bothers him but he doesn't know how not to do it and all that.
