Anyone watching America: The Story of Us?

I am hooked and bringing DH along with me. Stick out tongue We haven't been able to watch an entire 2 hour episode but we've seen everything that's out one hour at a time. Actually we went from the end of the pioneers/begining of the independence to the civil war and then went back to the middle part there. haha But I'm still really interested in everything and I'm finding out so many things that I didn't know.

DH and I are also having fun quizzing each other on all the history we can remember from our American History class back in High School.

I think it'll be fun when they get to more current history too. I can't wait to here about the 60's and 70's and the Space Program.

Anyone else hooked or am I the only dorky one here?

  • What channel?  It sounds interesting.  I was soooooo NOT interested in history in HS, but now I am.

  • I've been watching bits and pieces but with two-hour episodes it's tough! It's a great program though.  Then again, History Channel has some of the highest quality programming on TV, imo.

  • I haven't been watching but your post makes me interested. I have seen the promos for the show when I watch Pawn Stars (my fav show). I may have to set up the DVR to catch some of these on replay!

  • I've heard good things about this show so I flipped it on last night for a bit.  It was excellent!  They had the author(Jeannette Walls) of this months book club book on too!

I need to set the DVR to record this now since I have trouble staying awake past 9pm! Embarrassed

  • Oh I'm glad that you liked it! They do have a lot of people commenting about history. Some people though I wonder why they have them on there, Bruce Jenner was on last night and they've had like Ice-T on (or some other rapper) and I'm kinda like "what do you know about history". But all in all I really like it. I didn't make it through the entire episode last night and DH slept through about 95% of it so I'll probably catch it again later this week. Last week it was on again on Wednesday night but I don't know if that's the typical schedule or not.
