OMG, we are horrible pet owners!
Our poor dog 
I get up about an hour or so before DH in the mornings. The dog sleeps with us and sometimes he gets up with me, but most of the time I have to literally drag him out of bed. This week, I let him stay in bed assuming that DH would let him out when he got up to leave for the day. NOPE.
Somehow it came up when I was talking with DH. So, since monday, our poor dog has been holding it from about 10pm to 5 pm the following day.
(Don't worry, as soon as I realized it today, I sent my mom to the house to let him out)

If it makes you feel any better, our dog once held it for three days. Not because she wasn't given the option - but we were having a battle of wills. She would only go at my parents house, which was 10 minutes away from ours (she stayed there for a month while we were moving cross country and she got used to the bathroom routine there). I kept taking her out at our house and she wouldn't do anything. We did this for three days until I gave in and took her to my parents house. I was worried she would do some damage to her bladder!
Yes, I lost a battle of wills to my dog. I'm not proud.

One of these days I'll have a good marathon!
