A little overwhelmed/semi-freaking out

My friend is being induced tomorrow, a week early. All of a sudden all these feelings are flooding me about this happening to me in less than 8 months. I just had a moment of pure freaking out at the idea of bringing a little person into the world that I have to care for and having my life forever changed. I'm sure after carrying the baby for nine months and seeing my belly grow and seeing the baby on ultrasounds I will get used to the idea, but right now this is just so wierd and I can't believe it's happening so fast. I need some reassurance from the mommys out there that I will get used to this (although I know it still seems surreal to many of you still, even with babies), but I'm just so scared!! Thanks for letting me vent ladies.

Re: A little overwhelmed/semi-freaking out

  • You are totally normal. I was holding Liam this morning and still kind of in shock that this little person grew inside of me! And my friend at work is dealing with registering her son for first grade and arranging before school & after school care, etc... and it totally freaked me out for 2014 when I will be in the same boat!

I think we will all be able to freak out on a moment's notice until our little ones turn... I don't know, 29? Haha

  • Get a paper bag and breathe in and out. LOL. You are fine. It's a crazy ride and you never get used to it, but it's awesome. I look at my son and say, "how did you get here?". It's totally surreal. Relax. It's part of the ride and totally normal.

I am 29 and my mom still has moments. lol

  • I think that's totally normal.  It's such a big change.  I remember having those "I'm getting married" or afterward the "Wow, I'm married" feelings.  So, I can only imagine it's about ten times bigger when you're pregnant and subsequently have a baby.
