WWYD?

Most of you know my real name and for those of you that don't it's a dual first name. I use both names, because I like my name, it was my grandmother's name, too.

Here's my dilemma. I have a store in NYC I have been buying clothes from for about 5 years, even when I lived in BR, I had stuff shipped to me. Last year the associate I had always used left so I was hooked up with this new girl. She insists on only calling me by the first part of my name even though I have repeatidly corrected her. I shop there about 1-2 months and with the baby that's going to increase. I feel that she is being disrespectful, am I'm tempted to switch associates. What do you think?

Re: WWYD?

  • hmmm.  I'd give her one more chance and say that you really want to be called by your name, "both names".  If she then continues to fail to do so, I'd switch.

Yes, I agree newly emerged troll friend. She needs to recognize she needs to say her name like she wants it. And this fronting business.. what is that all about? If the glove doesn't fit, she must acquit.

  • ZOMG TROLL!

Anywho, give her one more chance. Emphasize your name. If she gets it wrong, request a switch. :)

  • You say you've asked her previously and she repeatedly gets your name wrong.  I say change with no second chance.  IMO she's already had second chances.  Just my two cents, and I've worked in retail.  I'm huge about customer service.  It's not that hard or difficult to give good service; pay attention and respect your customers. Obviously she's not doing that.
  • Meh. I would say to let it go. But if it really bothers you, switch.

MJP is inclined to agree with MBB.  This is not a dilemma.  This is petty crap.  Who effing cares what she calls you?
