Yahoo!!! We are SO happy, estatic, and excited! Thank you for your prayers and good wishes!
There were only 12 homes/lots available this time and about 150 people hoping for a chance at one of them.
We had to be there at 8:30 in the morning yesterday to look at the various homes/lots then come back to the Dept of Hawaiian Homelands building to start the process at 11 am. To make a long story short, there were 3 people who were called that did not show up, if they did, we wouldn't have a home. We got the 9th home out of the 12 available.
It's amazing that I had a feeling about this one particular house: it had a lot of natural light throughout the house, it had a good "spirit" about it, and it was on a large lot. I just kept feeling this was the one. But it was only a 2 bedrm/2 bath house and initially we wanted 3 BR. But we were talking to the agent and she said that it could be expanded in the future to add onto the house since it was on a large lot if we wanted. We kept it in mind and decided it would be our second choice.
By the grace of God, the house that I sensed was ours became ours! All of the other larger homes went first. It was meant to be. I just bawled when they called his name. We will move in early July!
In addition, my husband mentioned that he had a dream last night and told me its interpretation. He said that he feels that we are supposed to adopt children. He said we are not giving up having our own kids, but he feels that adoption is part of the plan God has for our lives.
That in itself is another miracle because I didn't know how to bring that subject up w/ my husband and was asking God how to do it. Well, God told him for me!!
I feel so blessed today!!
Goodbye small apartment!!! Hello to my children and new home!!

Congratulations! I would rather have a house with a good old soul than with one more bedroom. It sounds like it was meant to be.
Would you consider being a foster parent? It isn't the right time for me. I think it is the most amazing thing that adults can do for a child (or children). I look forward to being a foster parent one day.
Congratulations, again, on your new home. Aloha

Congrats! What an awesome day for you!
I second the sentiment of things falling into place as they should be. I also second the question re. fostering. I've thought about fostering too but wondered if it'd be too heartbreaking. I'd, personally, get too attached to the kids, I think.
I love Hawaii!
