BU: SNL party

Last night was my friend's Betty White Hosts SNL party. I didn't get many pics of the cute details, but I did blog about it. Link in sig.

Who watched? What did you think? Favorite sketches?

Re: BU: SNL party

  • I loved how they had all the past females back on the show! Maya Rudolph, Molly Shannon, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are simply amazing :)

I think my two favorite sketches were the Mexican Talk show one- (Betty White's dance was hilarious) as well as "the dietary fiber/muffin" radio talk show.

And of course, Weekend Update is always funny!

  • The "muffin" one was one of my favorites, too. I usually hate the one with the three boys in jail, but it was actually funny. Wizard of Ass!

And, I loved Weekend Update, too. "Really" is always one of my favorite parts.

  • I thought Betty was phenom, like I knew she would be. Loved the monologue and Dusty Muffins the best. It was also awesome to have so many women alums back to do classic sketches. NPR, Sally O'Malley, Maya's Whitney Houston... and you can see cut sketches on hulu - Bronx Beat, Debbie Downer, and others.

  • The episode was a double-edged sword for me.

On the one hand, I thought it was SOOOO funny. Betty White kicked some serious @$$ up there. Her monologue about facebook was phenom ("I mean, we had the phone book, but we didn't spend a whole afternoon on it...").

On the other hand, it just reminded me of how funny SNL used to be...and isn't anymore. I miss Tina and Molly and Anna and Maya and Rachel and Amy. If anything, all the episode did was highlight how bad the show has been since they left, and that was depressing.
