BR: this is gross...just warning you ahead of time
Tonight, Dash spit up all over me. By "all over" I mean down my shirt (fyi: a bra makes an excellent catching mitt for a shirt full of spit up) and all over my lap. But that's not the gross thing. The gross thing happens when you go to change a very pooey diaper, have started wiping away the poo and swapping out the diaper, and the baby starts pooing again. All over the wipe. And the changing mat. And your hand.
Mmmhmm.
I knew it would happen at some stage - I just didn't think my baptism by baby poo would occur quite this soon.

This cracks me up! I swear I would always change NICU babies and they would start pooping again, WTF kid, wait until this one is done!

OMG, this has me cracking up!
There was a point when he was about a month old or so, maybe younger, where I would easily go through 3 diapers in one changing due to this very thing!
And, yes, isn't it amazing how wonderful bras are at catching everything???
yeah I found out that bras are great for spit up and vomit when A got RSV last winter and was coughing so much she'd throw up after almost every meal!
i think i was more upset about the wasted breastmilk than the milk all over me though!
i've had close calls like your poo incident but luckily every time i was able to hear it coming and pull the diaper back up to prevent any messes or projectile poo! this is also why i always wait 15 min after i hear her poo to make sure she's gotten it all out first!
OMG!!! i'd rather just use another diaper

Aha! Welcome to the wonderfully messy world of motherhood. Libby pooped once, as soon as we opened her diaper, and it went all over us, the changing pad and the floor. Sick!
Last night she threw up all over me and my hair. At 3 a.m. Good times.
Happy Mother's Day! LOL!

my sister's kids would always poop so much at one time it would go up their backs to their necks. mh and i were just dating at the time, so he never believed me. so one weekend they were at my house, and sure enough, the little one gave mh the honor. mh (then bf) almost threw up. hahahah
so sad when they are sick too. they got it coming out of both ends and they're miserable and grumpy...

OMG I'm DYING!
Soft serve poo - Jaime I'm dying!
We had a poo in the hand / all over the wall incident in the middle of the night. It was pretty disgusting and horrifying. Definately a two person clean up
I learned that Elyse generally poops 3-4 times. I never go in until after at least three for fear of poo-splosions.

dh and i refer to it as soft serve. but just be thankful that you were at home while it happened. i was changing kylie sitting in the car waiting to pick up haley from school and changing her poopy. i picked up her legs to get the old diaper out and she started pooping again and it squirted all over the car! well lets just say it was ALL over me, the car and everything else around me. thank goodness my friend pulled up just in time to help me, as my hands were covered.
it gets better as they get older.
