I don't understand this oil spill fix
The oil spill STILL isn't contained. I don't get how, in this day and age, there isn't a quicker fix. It's been a long time! The latest dome idea didn't work and it will be at least tomorrow before another fix is tried. BP gave checks out to the fishermen that can't do their job now.... $5,000. That's it. No more. It's just so crazy to me, the whole situation.
Re: I don't understand this oil spill fix
it boggles my mind as well...
It just p!sses me off. And I really get upset when on the news they say "and who should pay for this?"
Um, the people who spilled the oil? Isn't that kind of a "duh" thing?
Don't forget tourism, too. We know some people who were planning to head down for a family vacation, but are canceling now b/c the smell and conditions are less than travel-friendly.

I'm sad about the seafood! Who knows how long it will be before I can enjoy some oysters on the half shell or fresh gulf shrimp in NO?
It really is devastating and sad. I think it is a really complex problem without a simple fix. I think if BP had the ability to quickly correct the problem, they would. In my opinion, the best thing to come out of this is a much more conservative approach to offshore drilling.
