How was everyone's MD and weekend?

We had the in-laws over yesterday, and they didn't leave until after 9!  It was a long day...

Re: How was everyone's MD and weekend?

  • Yikes! I would not have lasted that long with my ILs, lol. We only had to see them for about 45 minutes yesterday, which was long enough, as usual.

Our weekend was good though :-) Friday we just relaxed and enjoyed the last of the warm weather.

Saturday my mom and I ran a bunch of errands. Then that night we went to a surprise party for my aunt.

Yesterday we stopped by the ILs, then had our maternity pics, then had dinner with my parents. Overall a very nice weekend!

  • How long will it take for you to actually get the photos from the photographer???
  • She said she hopes to get them to me by the end of the week. I told her to take her time, she's a friend of mine and has a day job, so I don't want her going crazy over them haha. But I have a feeling she will do them by the end of the week anyway because she was really excited :-)

  • Ha. I would always take the dog with us to the IL's and not her food so we HAD to leave by 5 so she could get home and eat.

Ours was good- we flew to AR to surprise my mom and I told my parents about being pregnant. My mom was insane about it- it wasn't even enjoyable, to be honest, although we had a nice weekend, I was more than ready to leave and get away from her yesterday.

Friday was my brother's college graduation. It was a pain in the neck trying to first find my dad to get my ticket, then getting to the rest of my family in the stands (at the Garden). But the graduation was fine, they didn't announce everyone's names so the diploma part went quicker than I was expecting. We had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe which was good. I got home about an hour earlier than I would have if I worked which was really great because it was so nice out. We took turns taking the cats outside on the harness.

Saturday was his graduation party and it rained, which sucked. We got to my parents' house at 1245 to help set up/pick up food and didn't leave until 1015. It was a long day but it went by fast.

Yesterday I was able to just lay on the couch for a few hours watching TV before we met up with my family again for Mother's Day dinner. We went to the Outback and it was packed. Our waitor was really friendly though.

  • We had a lot of family time this weekend, but luckily it was all pleasant :)

On Saturday we had dim sum brunch with some friends we haven't seen in a while so it was nice to catch up.  Visited my grandfather in his new facility, then went over to my parents' for dinner.

Yesterday we had brunch at my parents' house to start Mother's Day.  Gave mom her Swarovski brooch, which she seemed to like.  My sister came bathing suit shopping with me in preparation for my trip to Greece.  Then we all headed out to dinner later in the evening at Alia in Winthrop (which was very good, btw).

Tonight we're all getting together again to celebrate my other sister's birthday.  She gets kinda shafted IMO because her birthday always falls so close to Mother's Day, but should be yet another yummy meal tonight (Chinese hot pot).

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Saturday - Chopped a foot off of my hair for donation (and have since felt literally lighter!)  General to-do list stuff, and planning for all the stuff we need to do after closing.

Sunday - Mother's Day celebrations all around.

Oh no! I was looking forward to hearing how it went with your mom. Was she just too excited?

I had a pretty good weekend, I got a lot done in the new place. I hung pictures and now it actually feels lived in! Saturday we started our baby registry which was a fun thing to do on Mother's Day weekend :-)

Ugh, I'm sorry Punky.  I have a feeling my mom will be just like this.  She was already so annoying this weekend, talking about how drinking Coke makes you infertile (wtf?) and telling me that when I am a mother, I will understand what it means to truly love someone...... Ick!  She was so over the top and annoying that it makes me never want to get pregnant so I don't have to deal with her.  Is that horrible?  She is already expecting a pregnancy announcement from me any day (we are not even trying) and it is getting to be too much.

My weekend was good otherwise.  We were so busy socializing that we hardly were at home.  I did manage to get some cleaning done last night before bed which made me feel better.  Our kitchen was a disaster of dirty dishes and pitchers of boiled water after last week.

That is just way too much.

My mom was excited. Very excited. She gets very wound up and is intolerable to be around sometimes due to it. And it was all about her. Her news to share, her grandbaby, no one (her friends) has anything on her anymore, what she needs to buy, blah blah blah.

She called a friend and said, "Well I knew PB was looking pretty pudgy when I saw her and now we know why!"

Um. I am 5'6. I weigh 118 pounds as of Friday. Trust me, I may be a little thicker in the waist, but I am far from pudgy. I just thought it was so rude. I called her on it and said said, "Oh please, she knew what I meant."

    Nice.

When I said, "I have only gained 2 ounces..." she said, "Oh you can totally tell, your arms are so much bigger and so is your entire stomach."

Please. DH was so annoyed. He just hugged me and said, "She can think what she wants, you look exactly the same."

Awww!!  At least your DH is on your side!!

Also, I am an inch shorter than you, and *multiple* pounds heavier than you, and I would be insulted if someone called me pudgy- because I feel that I am an appropriate size.  I can't imagine how that must have annoyed you, considering how thin you are!

  • The weekend was pretty good and kinda lazy (which I needed after last week ... not a bad week ... just hectic with work and baby stuff).  Spent most of Saturday and Sunday relaxing on the couch and doing random things around the house.  I convinced DH that we should get blizzards from DQ Saturday night so that was really yummy.  Then Sunday he gave me a really sweet card and took me out to dinner for Mother's Day.  Our waitress even wished me Happy Mother's Day before we left which I thought was nice and unexpected.

And Punky ... I must have been under a rock or something and completely missed your announcement ... Congratulations!!!
