MH is thinking about getting a new truck. I'm indifferent on which truck he gets (there were some rules - he has to qualify for 0% financing on his own, he has to pay for it and he has to get rid of one of this two other trucks - only one because the other was his deceased brother's truck). SO, this weekend we took a trip to look at some trucks and he can't decide. So, which would you nudge him towards? He will be getting a truck with 4 doors and (most likely) leather interior.
ETA: Any reason why you pick that truck?

Re: New Truck Poll
Unfortunately he's completely set on a truck. Even though he has his brother's truck (he doesn't want to put a lot of miles on it though and has been very careful with it and I can *kind* of see why he doesn't want it to be an everyday vehicle).
Kristin: I tried to push him to an avalanche! He hasn't really looked at them yet.
I voted "other" for the same reason as Jen.
Mike wants a small truck - like a Tacoma or something. I don't really care what/if he gets it, so long as it isn't a gas guzzler...but you're talking to a tree hugging hippy who's dream car is a Prius.

I agree with Jen & Val... if he already will have an actual truck, I'd try to suggest he get something more versatile. Then again, to me a truck is something you USE (for business, etc.) or it's a waste.
I voted for Ford, only because I've had incredibly good luck with anything Ford. Also, Greg's Uncle is MR. FORD, and he owns his own repair & body work shop. He raves about them, as does Greg's dad. (Greg's dad, however, has one of the last models that had a small V8.. apparently they don't really offer that anymore. But he's had great luck with his truck as well.)
My dad has had just about everything else, including an Avalanche. He'd tell you all the negatives about every one of them; I no longer trust his advice, however, because he was & is anti-Ford. I've had my Focus as long (with only one major repair) as he's blown through about 7 different trucks, usually with transmission or other serious issues. (So I think it's my dad, not the manufacturer.)
I've heard negative things about Dodge's... they're sharp trucks, but anyone I've ever known who owns a Dodge has commented they're not known for their durable transmission systems.
I didn't vote because I have several answers! We own at least one of each kind either business wise or personal so I will review them all.
Chevrolet/GMC-Best on gas mileage however they don't hold their value very much. That seems to be turning around slightly but it will never be comparable to a foreign vehicle. They are tough tough trucks. We have one that has 200K miles on it and it's been beat up and tortured for a work truck and the most we have had to do it a transmission around 150K which is not unusual. It'd be much better if it wasn't a work truck. MH also had one and we loved it and wish we still had it sometimes because it was so much roomier than his current Toyota.
Ford-Heavy duty, okay gas mileage, repairs seem to be more expensive and more frequent (by far my least favorite).
Dodge-Gas guzzler! Super expensive to repair.
Toyota-Very roomy compared to older models. MH has an 04 and it gets bad gas mileage compared to the Chevy. High retail value and very dependable(even though the current problems with Toyota)
Nissan-never had a full size but know many people that do and they are pleased with them. We test drove one once and I felt like I was in a spaceship. The smaller size ones though were very nice and dependable so the full size are probably the same. They are comparable to the Toyotas I would say. Not sure about gas mileage though.
So bottom line I'd go with Chevy/GMC or Toyota
