Long awaited update on DSS
Many of you over the last 4 years have heard or read about the struggles with DSS's mom and the less than suitable living situations she has put DSS in. Last year about this time we suggested to her that DSS come live with us this next school year and she said "not at this time, he's all I have". This year more and more she's let us have him. We had him for all 3 months of summer, all days off of school, most weekends and every holiday. Everything but school days. Well, recently she agreed to let him come live with us and go to school near us and asked us to take him June 1st when school ends. We were excited & I didn't want to post about it and jinx it. He was with us this weekend for Mother's Day weekend (yeah, weird, I know) and she texted us this AM and basically said she was just told today she's going to be in training in San Antonio for the remaining days of his school year so she needs us to take him now. Totally caught us off guard. Basically, told us she didn't care if we wanted to transport him from Buda to Georgetown for school or just withdraw him. We don't want to withdraw him and enroll him here for his last 3 weeks of school so we're going to do the nearly 100 mile round trip drive every day for the next 3 weeks for school. We couldn't be happier and I wanted to share since many of you have followed this situation on here and have sent us dust many times. We're going to have some paperwork drawn up, signed and notarized basically stating he's to live with us and we are not requesting child support from her but will not continue to pay her child support either. Just wanted to share.
