Will I guess I am officially on leave effective immediatley. My boss had been saying for weeks now that if our work did not pick up that he was going to cut upper mgt's hours and lay off others. So since we do not qualify for FMLA or have any kind of sick leave/maternity leave his is laying me off with the others instead of just cutting my hours and then me just take off w/o pay. It is good that at least I will be able to draw some sort of money while I have Mason but the bad part is that he doesn't know when work will pick up enough to bring me back so I am glad for the money but scared at the same time b/c I don't know if we have enough money saved to make it for more than 2 months. But there is anything else we can do besides take it one day at a time. Oh well gotta get to packing.
Re: BR: Maternity Leave
I am sorry you've been laid off but it's decent timing to allow you to get ready for Mason. I believe you can draw unemployment when you've been laid off due to lack of work. I would definitely look into it for your state. I am not sure how needing maternity leave would factor into it though since drawing unemployment means that you need to available to work and actively looking for work.
GL! I find that stressing about money does no good...it certainly doesn't make it come any faster. So I hope you can find a solution that works for you and then proceed to enjoy these final days of your pregnancy and the birth of your baby boy. Easier said than done, I am sure. You can do it!

Ugh, I'm so sorry! You should be able to get unemployment when you've been laid off (right?), so I guess that's one good thing, but I know it must still be super stressful.
BTW, love the name Mason - did I miss where you picked it? It was one of the names on my boy name list.
