Flowering potted plant... need not be transplanted?
I'd like to add some color (and perhaps fragrance) to my deck. I'm trying to figure out what kind/ type of plant I can get which which yield flowers throughout the warm season in a pot. I have no garden to transplant anything so I need a flowering plant that's mainly self-sufficient (of course I'll feed it and water it) that can survive on my deck where there's plenty of sunlight.
Any ideas or resources I can check?
Thanks.
Nutmeg, cilantro, sage, mint, thyme... these are a few of my favorite things!

We have four children; one left us too soon.

Any full sun annual would work. Petunas are quite colorful and blooms throughout the summer.
If your deck does get lots of sun, though, you may need to water the pot everyday in the hottest months.
