OK, I just decided that I'm going to be in a better mood than my "Moody Monday" post shows I'm in. This was a great weekend! DH and I had a stoop sale on Saturday that was a huge success! We made well over $200 and what we hadn't anticipated was how much fun it would be chat with all the different kinds of people that stopped. We planned it for Saturday because the Brooklyn Flea (massive and insanely popular artisans flea market) is held in the high school lot a block down from our building, so hoards of people literally had to walk right past us to get there from the subway. Brilliant! Then yesterday, a few my girlfriends threw a Sunday Supper for me. We made our own pizzas, drank a LOT of wine and had a nice evening together. We also might go sailing around lower Manhattan one last time next Sunday! DH and I and neighborhood friends have done this a few times and it's ridiculously beautiful to be in the harbor looking out at the city and the bridges and the Statue of Liberty... but they usually don't start again until Memorial Day. Fingers crossed that there is still enough room on the boat for DH and I to join in the fun!
That feels much better. ![]()
Re: On a more positive note...
The sailing trip sounds like a great time!! Fingers crossed you get to go!!!
My Blog!
Haha! I knew somebody was gonna ask about that! A stoop sale is just a yard sale, but since we don't have yards in the city, we hold the sale on the front stoop instead (meaning the saircase and landing of the building). See below.
I'm from the country but I actually knew that one.
Admittedly.. I only know it because I used to watch Hey! Arnold
?
Hey! Arnold was the BEST!!!!! ?I totally know the epidsode you are probably thinking of... poor stoop kid. ?:) ?
This is going to sound wrong, but I am totally jealous of your stoop.
I just have a ground level door. How boring is that?
Oooh! What fun! The cruise sounds like a blast

The sunset sail is a go! I can't wait to have a nice romantic cruise with DH and a couple of our closest friends. It'll be a very fitting way to say goodbye to New York.
Yay!!! Have an awesome time!! I hope you get beautiful weather!!
