So DH's aunt passed away yesterday afternoon. It is awful, just tragic. Her grandaughter is DH's god-daughter and she basically raised her until 7 (she's 9 now). She had a panic attack last night about the thought of her grandma's organs being donated. I had a talk with MIL and I went out today and bought her one of those mama necklaces where the mama is holding the baby inside a heart and told DH to give it to her later tonight (he is still over there). I thought it would be sort of symbolic...like you have grandma in your heart type thing. I hope she finds it comforting.
In other news, my grandparents are visiting this weekend from PA (this was planned before) so I am being torn in a 1000 different directions because DH's 50000000 aunts/uncles/cousins are in town too. DH made it clear though that my grandparents get priority over baby time which is awesome but I feel bad about it still. It is great getting to see my grandparents but I will be glad when the next 5 days is over
This is way rambly. Sorry. I just am so amazed at DH's family - his mom has thirteen brothers and sisters and ALL OF THEM + their spouses + their kids are coming for the services. Its nuts! Its beautiful in a way though.
Also his aunt's kidneys (both), liver, and corneas were all transplanted so she continues to give the gift of life in a way
I need to sleep.
