(as I type while still in my pjs...and it's 2pm here!)
Hope you all had a great weekend! I took today off to relax and get some stuff done I don't normally get to do (working on a possible 'change' to my life)...
Had a great one! Work was productive Saturday, but I knew doing the Komen Walk with Mom on Sunday would be quite exhausting (and a lot of driving before/after walking)... was great, though!
Sad news... I came home and Chirp (our wild pet bird) lost a pretty blue egg! on Mother's Day... She's still in her nest-I hope there are more eggs there...
How was your weekend?
Re: How was the weekend?
Very nice, thank you!
My parents got into town late on Friday. J and I went to the Whitney Biennel before they got in and then had a late dinner around their hotel.
Saturday we went to the Boathouse in Central Park for brunch, hit up a flea market in Brooklyn, had a few Irish energy drinks (beer) in a nearby bar, and then explored the area around the Navy yards. I showed my mom the building I think my grandparents took her home to after she was born. After watching the Red Sox bite the dust, we had dinner here . I had duck meatloaf and my dad had the.best.fried.chicken.ever. So good.
Sunday J had to work so I took my parents to brunch and then we went to the Transit Museum. If you're ever in NYC, you have to go. It's one of my favorite museums ever.
Fantastic =D.
Friday: I was exhausted when I got home from work. DH and I watched some tv and I passed out. Well, I woke up around midnight with a ton of energy, so we order Papa John's and came home to watch Fast and the Furious. It was actually really good -- should have been the second one to come out after the original. Then we played some games till we were tired.
Saturday: We set an alarm so we didn't sleep the day away. We cleaned the house and bit and then went to the park. There was a huge art show going on, so we walked around and enjoyed the show. Then we started discussiong our house and decided it was time to decorate a room. We stopped by Sherwin Williams and got some paint samples to look over. Then we made lunch at home, watched tv, and played some games. Then we took a nice long stroll around the neighborhood. When we got back we decided to spary the weeds.
Sunday: I pulled some weeds and DH cut the grass. Then we headed out to Sherwin Williams to buy paint and supplies to start the room. We got the ceiling and one wall finished and we were pooped. My neck is soooo sore today, but totally worth it. After we finished, I treated myself to ice cream while we watched some tv. Then we played games till bed.
This was actually a much more work filled weekend than most, yet it was one of the best. It was nice to just spend time with DH and to finally start working on the house. I can't wait to finish this room -- we're hoping to be finished painting by the weekend and then start decorating after. We'd like to have it complete by the beginning of July, which work wise won't be difficult, but we're trying not to spend too much money at once.
Spent the weekend primarily at my parents' house. On Friday I did get to have the Panera tomato/mozzarella panini I was craving, and it was delicious! It's just easier for me to do a breakdown of the weekend because there were good and not-so-good points.
Low-Points
- Bella has a bad UTI and had to go to the vet last minute. I hope she feels better soon.
- My Dad greeted me on Saturday by saying, "Hi, Tubby!"

Annnnnd, now I have a massive complex about gaining pregnancy weight. Thanks, Dad. It's great that you called me that, especially since I've lost weight so far. - And, my Dad was also being nuts and telling me that I was "getting crazy" because I mentioned that I wanted to eat as healthy as I could while pg. This, after he gave me the third degree about how I'm mostly eating carbs right now (because that's all I can stomach) and how that's unhealthy. Which one is it, then?!? How is wanting to eat healthy being a "crazy pregnant lady that's going overboard?" GAH!
High-PointsSome was great some was eh.
Friday- I walked in the door grabbed Myka and just held her. She and I took a walk, I wore her, and everyone came over to see her. She loves talking to people.
Saturday- The plan was to go to the flea market, the IL's, then home to finish planting. Then to dinner with my family. Well plans changes with the IL's and I was not informed so I broke down. This lead to DH and I haveing a great talk. So we ended up getting all the veggies planted to the ILs then to the hibatchi grill with my family. I know not a big change, it was just DH's mother changes things like 5 times without even asking. Anyway it is over.
Sunday- I got to sleep in a bit, went to church came home and DH cooked me breakfast. I took a nap/played with Myka while DH watched the baseball game/played with Myka. We then cooked dinner together and watched Ninja Assasin while we ate. I love my Mother's Day gift DH and M got me.
It was one of those weekends that wasn't horrible but am glad it is over.
Friday I was pretty upset about work and not being pregnant and generally feeling sorry for myself so wasn't in the best of moods. We went to a new gyro place and then stopped by Cheesecake Factory and split a piece of cheesecake.
Saturday we visited DH's aunt.
Sunday we invited DH's mom over dinner. I ended up cleaning the house and doing all the cooking. I did have a nice long conversation with my mom (she lives out of state) and it helped cheer me up a bit.
Friday = ok, my sister dropped her kids off at my work, and I drove them down to our house and made dinner for them. I dropped them off at her MIL's at 8:30, then went home and passed out.
Saturday = We did our errands in the morning and then spent the afternoon doing yard work for my mom. The weather was beautiful, and the work was brutal! Such a good workout!
Sunday = I made brunch for everyone (Mom, N, sister +her family), we did more yard work while the kids played in the yard, then I made an AMAZING dinner (not that I'm bragging or anything) of bbq'd marinated flank steak, roasted asparagus, and salad, with rhubarb crisp for dessert. The rhubarb was from my mom's garden, and it was excellent. I rock.
This morning was sad, because I had to kiss N goodbye for a week
. But I'll be catching up on my sleep this week, without him there to distract me into a later bed time.
Friday - had belated Cinco de Mayo with a couple friend of ours and one of my bf's who's in town for a couple weeks. Had some drinks and some much needed girl time while the husbands were geeking it out on the computer.
Saturday - lazy morning, then my godson's 5th birthday party, church, and pizza night with DH and BIL. Did some crafting and lounged.
Sunday - lazy morning, followed by lunch with my mom and dinner with the IL's, BIL, DH's aunt and her two little boys. Felt a little sick last night, so lounged and started laundry so DH had clothes for his trip out of town this week.
