Favorite "American" Recipe
I'm starting a new "job" on Tuesday. Once/month I will have about 5 Japanese ladies to my house and they will "learn" a recipe and cook it and eat it here. I have to have the recipe and ingredients, but they cook it up and everything. They pay about $30 to come, and I don't have to get a sitter for Mallory, so it is great!
Anyway...anyone have a great recipe they consider to be "American"???

I don't have recipes for these since I wing these recipes, but definitely go for chicken fried steak (there is a "recipe" for it in my blog, but it is more of a method than a recipe), fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and homemade mac 'n cheese. Oh, meat loaf would be another good one. I've got two recipes for that in my cooking blog (link in sig), but one isn't a real recipe (just threw it together) and the other is a slow cooker meatloaf, but I bet it could work in the over too.
I do have one recipe I can share: chocolate chip cookies . Hands down best chocolate chip cookies ever.
That sounds like such a fun job!!
what a fun job!
if you are looking for ideas for things to cook, I really like maybebrides suggestions
also grilled cheese and tomato soup,
pork chops and mashed potatoes,
rotisserie (or beer can) chicken with roasted asparagus,
beef stroganoff or beef tips on noodles,
you should definitely do a tex-mex night, if you have a grill you could do a grill night,
linguine with chicken thighs with garlic bread and salad
maybe do a breakfast for dinner night with pancakes, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns?
Hey lady! How is it going?? Sounds like a fun gig. I would try Brisket, potato salad, and a dessert. I am no help with the brisket, but I love these tried and true recipes I make every summer!
