Thank Goodness for Procrastination

The usual rule of thumb in my area is that it is frost free the weekend of Mother's Day so you are safe to plant your veggies and annuals.  Apparently that isn't true this year because we have a freeze warning for tonight since it could get down to 32 degrees.

Thank goodness we have been slow in getting our garden boxes built and filled or I would be running around lookig for blankets and tarps to cover the boxes.

Guess my procrastination paid off.

Re: Thank Goodness for Procrastination

  • Lucky you.... I have 12 new tomato plants in my backyard that I ran out to cover (after I was already in bed) when I saw how cold it was supposed to get tonight and tomorrow! I hope they're okay out there! Everything else has already been hardened off and survived some cold nights so I'm not worried about them.

  • Same here! We started a bunch of vegetables indoors this year for our newly expanded vegetable garden, but life has been crazy busy so we haven't quite gotten the garden finished. Thank goodness, because April was gorgeous and warm here, but lately it's been freezing again. I am sure glad when my procrastination finally pays off :)
