It's a...

Boy!!!! Hi Everyone. I have been MIA for the past 2 weeks for a very good reason. Ayden Paul was born 2 weeks ago today, April 27th at 5:10pm. He weighed 7lbs. 8oz. and was 20 1/2 inches long. We are all doing well, just getting used to sleep deprivation but he is so worth it! We didn't know what we were having and it was so cool to find out in the delivery room.

Back story: I had an appointment Monday the 26th. My blood pressure was up and I had elevated protein levels. My dr. sent me to the hospital to be monitored further. If I passed, I could go home, if not I was going to be having a baby. I passed my levels but the dr. on call said my dr. wouldn't let me go past Friday of that week. She said Tuesday and Thursday they were slow in labor & delivery but Wednesday (my due date) and Friday they were busy. DH and I decided to come back Tuesday morning as Thursday was his birthday. We arrived at 8:30am and they started me on pitocin around 9. Dr. broke my water at 10:30 and got my epidual around 12:30. Around 4 felt some pressure and the need to push. I didn't know my dr. wanted to deliver me so we were waiting for her to show up about 45 minutes later. After 24 minutes of pushing, he was here! It was an amazing experience and one I hope for all of you when it comes time for you to have babies.

lucky-so glad to hear that Amelia is here and doing well. Skin to skin contact is the best.
